Scenery are so beautiful Was warted to go pace to see Weather was perfect for the trip Go and see 🌞
This full-day tour is very worthwhile as an opportunity to see parts of the Algarve that would otherwise be missed. Silves was a great place to buy things (e.g. ceramics) as prices are much lower than major centers, and Lagos was charming. Cape St. Vincent was a great viewpoint that we weren't even aware of before the tour. Our guide Jonny was excellent and knowledgeable.
What a day we had, the trip from start to finish was fabulous 👌, great time schedule through out the day. Jonny our driver and tour guide kept us entertained with his humour and wealth of knowledge. We took some beautiful photos at our different stops and had lunch at a little restaurant up Monchique mountain with amazing views. Highly recommend this trip "The western Algarve" we loved it ❤️
The excursion is interesting in relation to the price, although I would like to point out some aspects to improve: The first stop is in Silves, from 9:00 (approximately) to 10:15. There you visit the castle and the church. However, the church opens at 10:00, making it impossible to enter and, at the same time, return to the bus on time. In my opinion, the tour should start a little later for the visit to be complete. At the Monchique stop you don't really visit the village. Pause at a restaurant where the guide offers a €22 menu. Being in an isolated area with no other options nearby, it practically forces consumption there, since the wait until resuming the bus is an hour. Furthermore, this is not reported at any point in the announcement. Ideally, you should spend more time in Lagos, for example, and allow each person to choose where and when to eat. Finally, I recommend wearing comfortable clothes. At both the Highest Point of Albufeira and the Cape of San Vicente we found a lot of wind (at least on the day of our visit). Being well prepared with appropriate clothing is essential to fully enjoy these stops. Taking these points into account, I recommend this experience for its quality/price.
The trip was average. Everybody besides us were picked up at their accommodation. Our accommodation was conveniently situated in Albufeira, but for some reason not on the list. I sent the pick up info and was told to walk to a pick up areas 30 minutes away. Unacceptable. We then had no choice of seats and were my husband and I could not sit next to each other. Johnny was quite abrupt and told us that the tour is controlled by some "box" on the dashboard. We were not given any option for a lunch stop and were told to choose food from a list that he had @ €22 per person. The stops were way shorter than indicated in the itenary we saw when we booked and the name of the tour changed, but we were informed that it goes to the same places. When we asked him to drop us at our accommodation at the end of the tour, he dropped us a 10 minute up hill walk away from it because he said his boss won't allow it. Very strange as the tour we booked stated that it included pick up and drop off. All of this made our day out unpleasant. We should be compensated. The trip of the Eastern side that we booked was cancelled the night before supposedly due to not enough people going. I am not surprised now. Our experience with VIATOR has been horrendous and I will spread the word. We usually use Get Your Guide who are soo much better.
Excellent trip and top guide and bus driver. Super lunch .A lot to see and enough time to visit evertthing . Only in Lagos we could spent a little bit more time
We have had the best guide Johnny during our excursion to the western part of the Algarve. We felt safe with Johnny at the wheel. He was home from (almost) all tasks. We were 11 guests in a nice air-conditioned bus from France, England, Italy and the Netherlands. Johnny has told a lot far everything we encountered. At each step we also got ample time on our own to explore the place. During lunch he made a stop for which we could choose from various main courses (something for everyone) preceded by bread, spreads, cheese and cold cuts, fresh water, white and red wine for 22€ pp. The toilets there were fresh and clean. The food we loved, as simple as it was, actually what I had missed during our dinners at restaurants. We enjoyed it very much. We always have something delicious from the Netherlands to give away, but had forgotten to bring it, otherwise we would certainly have given it to Johnny
Friendly cheerful driver picked us up. Had a lot to say and joked around. Explained what we could view in the places. And made sure to have fun at the table. So the furthest the high spot of Portugal seen. Castle Silver viewed. In Lagos some early the shops were not yet open. Bye. Bye. I wouldn't do it with young kids
What an amazing day. Johnny, our driver, was so funny, knowledgeable and made sure everyone was comfortable. His English was impeccable. I definitely recommend this excursion!
Number one tour guide Johnny and bus was comfortable Bus was 10 9 Canadians and one Brit. Johnny covered so much history in the day and excellent driver on the mountain. We had ample time to check out the various stops and a lunch over looking the mountains. I highly recommend this tour if new to the Algarve They also do a tour to the East which is also recommended
