Visite guidée du globe de Shakespeare

It was a great place to visit. The guide was also an actor and a fan of Shakespeare so was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the information he was giving.

A very fun, informative, and enjoyable experience - especially for anyone who likes Shakespeare or theatre history

It’s an interesting tour but not very long. Also we weren’t able to go into the groundlings area (although other groups did). I think they need to stop having other activities going on when there are tours… especially given the cost

Located by the River Thames (a short walk from London Bridge station by The Clink Prison Museum and Golden Hinde) is Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre. We booked the Guided Tour not knowing what to expect but it was amazing! The theatre itself is not the original Globe (having twice been burnt down) but was constructed in the 90s by Sam Wanamaker. The Guided Tour starts in tge same building as the Exhibition and takes you into the Globe itself and into the first floor seating before ending by the Gift shop and second theatre. Our guide was great at explaining the history of the Globe and recreating some of the interesting aspects of productions like the witches from the Scottish play coming on in darkness and whispering in audience members ears. The tour itself is around 40 - 50 minutes costing £28 for individuals. Sheets are provided for those for whom English is not their first language and there are photo and video opportunities in the Globe. Ticket holders can also go back inside at any point in the day (but before 5pm the same day) to view the Exhibition which explains a bit more of the Globe’s history and those of its actors, including William Shakespeare. The exhibition takes 20 - 30 minutes to go around. For a great experience thou must go on a Shakespeare’s Globe Guided Tour!

Had a great visit to the Globe Theatre for the guided tour, first time I'd ever been and the staff were all very friendly, welcoming and helpful, giving instructions on the provided headphones and making sure they worked for everyone before the tour began. Our guide was "Cockney" Mick, who was very energetic, patient and knowledgeable, he responded to everyone's questions well, giving detailed answers and while some may have groaned, I myself appreciated Mick's puns. Keep up the fantastic work Mick! My ticket included a visit to the exhibition they have on site which was also very interesting and had some fun things to see and do, on top of providing some interests insights into the history of the Globe, it's productions and Shakespeare. All in all I find the experience to be enjoyable, informative and enlightening.

Nice and exciting tour. I missed some important details, despite my English being good, but our guide spoke very, very fast. It annoys me. Otherwise, she was talented and had a good sense of humor, but her fast talking ruined some of our yield.

Great experience at the Globe, guide was exceptional and couldn’t recommend visiting enough. However disastrous booking through TripAdvisor as we lost the first booking due to being late with underground issues and had to buy another sets of tickets from the theatre. No ability to change or rebate on TripAdvisor so will not be using TripAdvisor ever again - we would highly recommend that you just book direct with the venues / suppliers.

Must do tour if you are visiting the Globe theatre. Our guide was great, although I don’t remember her name.

It is a superb idea on the part of the city of London to have rebuilt an original seventeenth-century theater. The original theater. It is a very beautiful visit, very interesting, for history buffs certainly.

I took my 15 year old daughter on the guided tour and we both loved it. Cockney Mick was our guide and he was funny, engaging and incredibly knowledgeable throughout. You'll learn all about the history of the theatre and the London theatre scene, hear stories from the local area and all about how life would have been in the original theatre. Experience the stage area, take photos and enjoy the view from all areas. There is also a Shakespeare exhibit to enjoy either before or after your tour, with costumes displayed and lots of great information. We stayed and watched Much ado about nothing, which was fantastic. I'd recommend buying seated tickets and renting a cushion!
