Visite guidée du canton de Mondesa Swakopmund en Namibie

Description

Very disappointing experience. We booked the Mondesa Township Historical Day Tour and were supposed to be picked up from our resort, but nobody showed up. We tried calling the company several times to find out what was happening, but they were completely unreachable by phone. We waited at the agreed pickup location and time, but received no communication, no explanation, and no apology. This was a complete no-show and ruined our plans for the day. I would not recommend booking this tour due to the lack of reliability and customer service.
Informative tour led by friendly and articulate guide, Frans. Tour started and ended in Walvis Bay for us; a hiccup with Port meeting point but after that, a fabulous day.....an opportunity to see a township up close, led by Frans, a Swakopmund local. We met some lovely people and enjoyed local, home-prepared food, served in the home. Frans very flexible and insightful. Tour very well priced
Pros: Nico, our tour guide was fantastic. We highly recommend his services for anyone who wants to have this experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable and answered every question we had. We had long discussions with members of various tribes to gain a fuller understanding of their culture. We took great pictures. The tour itself is 5 of 5. Cons: Communication with the tour company was nonexistent until 6 am the day of the tour. Our accommodations is hard for drivers to find because it isn't listed accurately on Google maps. We called the local tour operator multiple times a day for three days with no response. We left voice messages. We sent them messages through the Viator app no response for three days. We finally contacted Viator customer support after two days. They assured us they would reach out to the provider and that we would have no issues. 6 am the morning of the tour the operator acknowledged our message and provided the pick up time. I sent an additional request for the name and number of the guide because I knew there would be issues with them finding our location. They finally provided that information right before pickup. Sure enough, the driver had issues locating us. The lack of communication led to a little bit of anxiety even with the assurance of Viator customer service. As mentioned, the guide Nico was fantastic and the tour itself was worth it. I recommend folks use Nico for the tour.
Terrible: guide did not show up. Office telephone not answered. Other guides tried to help us but even they couldn’t find the tour company guide or make contact with the company. We want a refund please ASAP.
Good morning our sincerely apology for the inconvenience and miss communication between the Tour operator and the Port immigration department we will have a look in it and take action your refund was processed which you will be receiving in full Regards Tour operators
The tour was very good. I have given an average rating because our booking was for an 8am meeting. It was changed to 9am without our knowledge, so we were waiting around our cruise ship until another tour guide helped us by calling the company. Also there were two cruise ships docked in Walvis Bay and the tour guide thought we were on the other ship. Eventually we met up and got going. The tour was very good and our guide Frans was very knowledgeable. Mondesa is so interesting and clean - it puts most of the cities and towns in the UK to shame as there was no rubbish or litter in the streets. It was lovely visiting the day care centre and mother's workshop. We took a couple of bags of sweets and biscuits for the kids to share.
Good day thank you for your review
