À 17 heures, commencez votre aventure culinaire avec une succulente collation de viande grillée au charbon de bois selon une recette secrète transmise de génération en génération. Ensuite, dégustez un savoureux « gâteau aux carottes » ou le Char Keow Teow, un plat d'accompagnement populaire qui se distingue par ses ingrédients simples mais savoureux. Pour le plat principal, laissez-vous tenter par le délicieux plat de poulet à la sauce soja avec du riz et des cacahuètes du premier stand Hawker étoilé au Michelin à Singapour. Votre premier arrêt est un magasin spécialisé dans le bakkwa, de la viande séchée, lentement grillée sur du charbon de bois avec la même recette secrète transmise depuis des générations. Savourez le miel sucré, appétissant bakkwa ou obtenez un pack comme souvenir à emporter. Promenez-vous un peu plus devant les différents de petits étals qui vendent une pléthore de fruits tropicaux, dont le roi des fruits, Durian, ainsi que des fruits de mer frais et des produits du quotidien.
Continuez vers un centre de colporteurs et explorez la myriade de stands de nourriture avant de goûter au "gâteau aux carottes" ou au Char Keow Teow. Réchauffez votre appétit avec ce plat d'accompagnement populaire qui utilise les ingrédients les plus simples. Votre plat principal de la journée est au premier stand Michelin au niveau de la rue.
Laissez-vous tenter par le plat signature de l'étal, le riz au poulet à la sauce soja : un poulet mariné moelleux et tendre avec du riz blanc et des cacahuètes. This tour gives you an insight into Chinatown with a nice feed along- the way. I was very lucky to have a very knowledgeable & informative tour guide by the name of Carol who made me feel welcome just like old friends catching up. Great little activity for evening in Singapore. Our guide took us to one of the less well known hawker centres and ordered food for us that I wouldn’t ordinarily have picked myself- he was knowledgeable and friendly. Do note that a large part of the tour is about the history of Singapore rather than food as such (title of tour maybe a little misleading!) but I enjoyed it none the less

This tour was a ton of fun! We visited a few restaurants, stores, and stalls all within a short distance of Chinatown station, ate some classic dishes and some delicious fruits too. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the culinary history of Singapore.

Alfred was a great guide providing lots of information on Singapore and the food but also having fun along the way. There were 5 on our tour which was a great number and we all enjoyed the food, info and company. Don’t eat before as plenty of food on the night.

Our guide was informative, entertaining and kept us laughing in between food stops. Only three total guests and we all were impressed, and quite full by the end. Even went extra by taking us underground to the subway station. Highly recommend.

Lots of food and drink. Started slow with a taste of pork, thinking we were going to get little bits of food, but turned out that we had sugar cane drink, dim sum, a local carrot dish, then went to Hawker Chan for the famous chicken a d noodles, then to another local coffee shop for coffee. The guide was very knowledgeable and told us much about life in Singapore both past and present.
