Sri Narayani Dham est un lieu religieux situé dans le quartier de Dhankawadi à Lonavala. Le temple est dédié à la déesse Narayani et est l’un des sites touristiques les plus célèbres de Lonavala. Le temple a été construit en 2002 et est une belle structure de marbre blanc. La principale divinité du temple est Ma Narayani et de chaque côté du sanctuaire principal se trouvent des sanctuaires dédiés à Ganapathi, à Hanuman et à d'autres divinités hindoues. Les divinités sont joliment décorées de bijoutiers scintillants. L'entrée est une structure de 4 étages, il y a des fontaines alignées sur le chemin de l'entrée au temple.
Lion's Point est un point de vue situé à mi-chemin entre le barrage de Bhushi et la vallée d'Aamby à Lonavala. C'est l'un des points de vue populaires à Lonavala et aussi parmi les lieux à visiter absolument à Lonavala. La vue depuis la pointe des lions est majestueuse et panoramique. Pendant la mousson, on pouvait voir des dizaines de petites cascades, de collines verdoyantes et de lacs. Les vues sur le lever et le coucher du soleil sont fascinantes. Le vent est extrêmement fort à cet endroit et c'était très excitant de voir de nombreuses personnes aventureuses s'approcher du bord pour se procurer cette photo "vivante". Le trajet jusqu'au point est tout aussi pittoresque Le pic Shiv-ling est un pic conique visible vers la gauche du Lion's Point.
Bhushi Dam est un barrage en maçonnerie situé sur la rivière Indrayani à Lonavala, dans le Maharashtra. Le barrage de Bhushi est l’un des sites touristiques les plus fréquentés de Lonavala et une escapade de week-end très populaire à Pune et à Mumbai. Le barrage est situé dans l’arrière-plan de paysages montagneux pittoresques entre Lonavala et l’INS Shivaji. Le barrage a été construit à la fin des années 1860 pour le compte de la Great Indian Peninsular Railway comme source d’eau pour ses machines à vapeur. L'eau du barrage était acheminée à Lonavala, à Khandala et à la gare réversible des chemins de fer par des tuyaux en fonte. Pendant la saison des pluies, lorsque le barrage de Bhushi déborde, l’eau coule par une série de marches puis sur un terrain rocheux facilement accessible. Le terrain et l'eau constituent une combinaison amusante. C'est pourquoi le barrage de Bhushi est bondé les week-ends et les vacances. Il y a une cascade située très près du barrage, qui se forme lorsque l'eau jaillit à travers le barrage pendant les mois de mousson. La baignade est restreinte en raison du débit imprévisible de l'eau pendant les mois de mousson. Le lac créé par le barrage de Bhushi est également utilisé pour la production d'énergie par Tata Power.
Les grottes bouddhistes de Bhaje sont un groupe de 22 grottes creusées dans la roche datant du IIe siècle avant JC, situées à côté de l'autoroute Mumbai - Pune, près de la ville de Pune, en Inde. Les grottes se trouvent à 400 pieds au-dessus du village de Bhaja, sur une ancienne route commerciale importante allant de la mer d'Oman vers l'est jusqu'au plateau du Deccan.
Lohagad est l'un des nombreux forts de colline de l'État du Maharashtra en Inde. Situé à proximité de la station de montagne de Lonavala et à 52 km au nord-ouest de Pune, Lohagad s'élève à une altitude de 1 033 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer. Le fort est relié au fort voisin de Visapur par une petite chaîne.

I had a wonderful experience visiting Lonavala from Pune. Even without the rain and cooler weather of the monsoon seasoning the scenery was beautiful and the small townships vibrant and interesting. My tour guide Harshal was experienced and knowledgeable and adapted my solo experience to my fitness and requests. Our driver Tushar was kind and helpfu,l and an experienced driver. I appreciated being able to go at my pace and enjoy the sights of Lonavala too. It was a fantastic day and I completely recommend this tour experience as a solo traveler.
Lohagad Fort and Bhanje Caves are beautiful and interesting places to visit. But a more than 4 hours of trip without a bathroom break make this trip horrible. The guide wanted to make some adjustment but the driver revolted and we had to cut short the trip. The poor driver and the car were not paid properly even though the trip costs us almost Rs. 19000/ Very disappointed.
Loved the monsoon trek from Pune with Universal Adventures—lush greenery and waterfalls everywhere! Solid guides kept us safe on slippery trails, great group energy, and epic fort views. Refreshing escape; book it!
Booking this tour was a highlight of my trip. Going to a city that was so rich in culture and history. The highlight for me was Lohagad Fort. The hike up was not too difficult, and once I reached the top, the views of the lush green valleys were absolutely breathtaking. It’s a place where you can take your time, soak in the history, and just enjoy the peace and beauty around you. Another favorite stop was the Bhaja Caves. The ancient Buddhist rock-cut caves are stunning, with intricate carvings that really showcase the artistry of that era. The entire tour was very well-organized. It gave me the chance to experience both the natural beauty and the rich history of Lonavala in one trip.
Pack a rain coat or umbrella. It can be sunny and rain the next minute. A bit of climbing stairs, so you will get your steps in.
Sameer, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and shared with us the history of India and the country's values in relation to their beliefs and history. He was very considerate and answered all of our questions and put our safety and wellbeing first as this tour involves quite a bit of walking and hiking. Lots of sightseeing and beautiful views in this tour and in this part of India. Make sure you bring waterproof shoes!
I enjoyed this day trip immensely, even though rain and fog ended up hiding some of the views. But it was a full day of interesting sights nonetheless, with a great driver and a friendly, personable guide, Harshal. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes and be ready for climbing plenty of stairs (the caves and the fort are both high up) — but the vistas at the top are well worth the effort. Highly recommended.
Harshal is a wonderful guide who was flexible and accommodating to my wife and I. He took us to some of the best views that I have seen in my life (we have travelled to many National Parks in the U.S.). He was also very informative on all of the history behind each location as well as their religious and cultural significance. We could not be happier with the tour and would recommend this to everyone visiting Pune who likes to see the beauty that the Earth has to offer.
Good views, the drive can be treacherous if you do have a heavy down pour. Went with friends and family for a day. Leave ample of time as it may get busy with traffic
