We had a fantastic day out. Four of us shared the tour with another couple and it was a great experience. We visited three vineyards and got to taste many wines, each vineyard provided us with a lot of information on the wines. Our guide Jerome Georges was fabulous, he is very knowledgeable and friendly. A great day out.
Absolutely exceptional. Private tour in a private vehicle visiting three wineries, charming villages, and an opportunity to experience Alsatian culture and hospitality. The wineries were the highlight of course, ranging from a winery with a storied and historic pedigree in the region, and two new wineries with a modern focus yet deeply ingrained in the established wine culture. This will be a highlight for your trip, a wonderful day excursion, and an opportunity to experience Alsatian Wine from the hands of the growers and producers.
Excellent (Carlos) tour guide/driver-he was so knowledgeable about both the wines and the surrounding area. We visited 3 family run, beautiful wineries that are producing gorgeous wines-each took a lot of time describing the wines, their wineries, the terroir, etc. The villages one the wine route couldn’t have been more charming. Our only regret-not bringing a bigger suitcase to purchase and bring back more wine! Highlight of our trip!
Our guide, Carlos, was extremely knowledgeable about the wines we tasted and the region. He also had a good rapport with the vineyards which made the tastings more enjoyable. We had a good variety of wines with the opportunity, but never pressure, to purchase direct from the vineyard. The length of time for the tour was just right at 8 hours.
Great trip, wines, and guide! Great education and local wine guidance! Must go on trip for wines lovers.
We had an amazing experience with Letticia. She was incredibly knowledgable about the Alsace region and made the experience feel easy, relaxed and very tailored to the wines we liked. This was one of the better wine tours I'd been on. We went to three tastings, however the last visit lacked energy and education, and could probably be better. The wine maker didn't really seem to want to be there and our guide did a lot of the heavy lifting.
Excellent tour. Our guide Camille ran things perfectly and provided historical background and context for the tastings. I would recommend this to everyone and will take other tours from this provider.
Lovely day into the country around Strasbourg visiting vineyards, tastings, and lunch on our own in Ribeauville. Laurence was a great, knowledgeable sommelier and made the trip more informative and fun.
This trip was mostly great. Two out of three wineries were fantastic. The second winery we visited didn’t even have a real tasting room, rather we tried a bunch of wine in the equivalent of an old man’s basement or garage. It was freezing in there, and there was zero ambiance. We also didn’t visit Riquewhir which was advertised in the main details. This was the town I wanted to see most. But the one village we were able to get out and walk around was beautiful. Our tour guide was fantastic and was incredibly knowledgeable. Recommend this trip, but maybe only during peak travel season.
Thank you very much for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed most of the tour and that your guide made the experience memorable. Our wine tours are designed to showcase different types of wineries, including both well-established estates and smaller, more family-run producers, to give our guests a broad and authentic understanding of Alsace winemaking traditions. During your tour, you visited Domaine Durrmann, which is considered an institution in the region and highly appreciated for its unique approach and quality wines. Regarding Riquewihr, our itinerary mentions passing through the area, but the visit to the village itself depends on several factors such as traffic conditions and the location of the wineries selected for the day. At this time of year, with the Christmas markets taking place, access to Riquewihr is extremely limited and often not possible due to road closures and heavy congestion. We truly appreciate your recommendations and are happy that you still found the experience enjoyable overall. We hope to welcome you again in the future—perhaps during the peak season for an even smoother experience. Best regards, Jeanne from the Ophorus Team
Polenè was the most delightful host. She is knowledgable & passionate about the region, the people & the wines. We visited 3 very small family owned vineyards that were all completely different, giving us a true representation of what the region offers.
