Niché entre Hilton Head Island et Savannah, et accessible uniquement par bateau, Daufuskie Island est un véritable bijou. Ce voyage de 4,5 heures sur l'île de Daufuskie donne un aperçu d'un chapitre fascinant de l'histoire des Lowcountry sur le côté non développé de l'île. Apprenez la riche histoire des Amérindiens, des colons européens, du commerce du coton et de la culture Gullah. Nous vous encourageons à porter des vêtements adaptés aux conditions météorologiques et à apporter de l'eau, des collations et de la crème solaire. Attention : Notre visite est complètement structurée et ne comprend pas d'arrêt pour le déjeuner.

Itinéraire
Il commence par une promenade en bateau de la marina de Shelter Cove à l'arrière de l'île de Daufuskie. La balade est une partie importante de la visite! En cours de route, nous nous arrêterons pour les dauphins et d'autres animaux sauvages, ainsi que de voir et de discuter des sites sur Daufuskie et les îles voisines qui sont mieux vus de l'eau. Une fois sur Daufuskie, vous monterez sur des voiturettes de golf et ferez un tour du côté historique et non développé de l'île. Nous nous arrêtons à tous les sites historiques et boutiques d'artisans importants de Daufuskie.

Good tour! Bring sunscreen and water bottles. Andy was very knowledgeable and a great tour guide! We loved seeing the dolphins so close on the way back.

Master Captain Dean was great! After a beautiful boat ride, where we saw some dolphins, we toured the island. Met some locals. Learned of the history and saw some key historic spots. The tour was informative, and very interesting!
We had a wonderful time on our cruise to Dafauski Island. Captain Kelly taught us so many interesting facts about the island and the surrounding areas.. he was very knowledgeable and very entertaining. We had a wonderful day.
Experience was great! From a nice boat ride; to golf carting through dirt roads of the Island and touring historical buildings was amazing. It is sort of a one and done kind of trip, but it really is a great experience. Just do it!
Andy did a really great job with our tour. He was able to keep it interesting for everyone, deeply informative about all the stories of the different people that had lived here, and also respectful of the challenges that had been present for them. We also discussed how economics at the end of the day is the reason so many Gullah have left Dafuskie. I would definitely suggest this to others interested in learning more about Hilton Head and Dafuskie history.
