This tour was absolutely worth every penny and I’d recommend it without hesitation to anyone visiting NYC. My guide, Dana, was fantastic. She was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly knows her history, but what really stood out was how engaging and conversational she was throughout the tour. It never felt like a rehearsed script. It felt like walking Lower Manhattan with someone who genuinely loves the history and enjoys sharing it with others. I also want to give Dana a special shoutout because I ended up being the only person on the tour. She very easily could have canceled, and I honestly wouldn’t have blamed her, but instead she showed up ready to make sure I had a great experience. That level of commitment meant a lot and made the tour really special. One of the biggest challenges with Revolutionary-era New York is that so many of the original buildings and landmarks are gone. Having Dana there to put locations into context and explain what happened where made all the difference. It almost felt like getting a tour of “invisible New York.” As we walked around the city, she helped bring these places back to life and made it easy to imagine the events that unfolded there. I also loved how the tour blended Hamilton, Revolutionary War history, and the story of early New York City. Dana did a great job connecting the lyrics and moments from the musical to the real historical events, which added another layer to the storytelling. The pace was perfect, the route was easy to walk, and I learned far more than I ever would have exploring on my own. Whether you’re a huge Hamilton fan or you’ve never seen the musical, this tour is worth taking for the history alone. If you’re lucky enough to get Dana as your guide, you’re in for a treat.
This tour exceeded my high expectations! The compact walk between locations where history was made gives Dana, our skilled guide, time to weave the facts, the image of this Revolutionary place and its people with the songs you know; it's a little time travel, a little show biz and a lot of easy learning. Dana is a terrific guide; she paced the walking and talking to the needs of granny and pre-teen. She is steeped in the history of old New York as well as in our Revolution, the evolution of our financial markets and more, and she turns all that expertise into memorable stories. We wish there was a sequel!
What an amazing tour of New York through the words of Hamilton! Dana does a fantastic job telling the story, pointing out hidden gems and making history come to life!
Thanks so so much! Loved having you on the Hamilton Walking Tour, guests like you make it just as much fun for me!
My daughter and I came to NYC for the first time. We booked the Hamilton walking tour! My daughter is obsessed with the play. It was an easy process to book. Our tour guide Dana was fantastic. She was extremely knowledgeable about the places we visited and correlated the songs from the play to each stop. She gave us other facts about the city and area in general. The meeting point was easily accessible as we took the subway to get there. We ended the tour at Trinity Church their final resting places. Due to it being Christmas Eve the grounds were closed which was understandable due to the mass that was going to take place. 10/10 recommend to all you Hamilton lovers out there!
We had a tour scheduled but the guide was ill so we scrambled and found Dana and are so glad we did. She gave our family of 4 - kids ages 12 and 14- a perfect Hamilton experience. It was about 90 min long which was honestly the perfect length for our attention spans. She’s great at getting to the interesting details without all the blah blah blah. Recommend!
Dana was a pleasure to have as a tour guide we loved the tour we learned so many things about the play as well as the history of Alexander Hamilton Dana was so much fun to only give this tour 5 stars is an injustice to her will be looking to more tours that she gives Dana thank you for a great afternoon Steven . Laurie and Emily Murphy
This was a fun and very informative tour, and a great way to learn a little more about Alexander Hamilton and the downtown area. A good amount of walking and well paced. Highly recommended.
Dana is a Hamilton expert and will not let you down on this tour. From the very start she was so welcoming and friendly, would answer any question and most importantly encouraged us to sing along! As the soundtrack played on our headsets, Dana took us on fantastic tour based around the financial district, bringing the entire Hamilton story to life right in front of us. The timings were concise so nothing ever felt like it dragged, and means you can easily slot this tour into a packed NYC schedule. If you love Hamilton, this is a must, highly recommend booking on your trip to the greatest city in the world!

If you are interested in history ... GO! If you enjoy Broadway musicals, especially Hamilton ... GO! If you love both, you're in for a treat! As you stop at various points important in Alexander Hamilton's life, Dana shares pertinent information, and you're sure to learn something you never knew. While covering the distance between historical spots. you listen to (and sing along, if you like) the appropriate songs from the musical. It truly makes the musical and the history come to life. You won't be disappointed!!
