Exciting motorcycle ride into the favella always felt safe, guide was thorough and always gave answers to questions interesting experience

Very unique and exotic journey with Carlos, our experienced tour guide filled with humor and expertise. Strongly recommend having the tour with him, a kind native resident who shared us the real Favela life and history.
Carlos was amazing! We felt safe and taken care of, and learned so much! Thank you for everything!
Amazing experience ! Carlos was kind and very knowledgeable.
Great experience, very informative guide also amazing person will definitely make you feel comfortable to ask any questions funny as well, would highly recommend!!
Very interesting tour. You ride a scooter to a viewpoint, the guide explains a lot about life in the favela, and then you walk all the way back down through the Rocinha favela.
Wonderful videos, super attentive, kind, and very nice
Our guide spoke quickly, was very forceful. He said we had to get a cigarette, throw things away for him, and also pay 2x extra tourist tax, which we had to transfer to his account. We have a strong suspicion that all of this ends up in his own pocket.
Dear Traveler,Thank you for sharing your feedback. We take all reviews seriously, but we must clarify some important points regarding the local logistics of our community tour.As explicitly stated on our official Tripadvisor listing under the "What's not included" section, the base booking fee does not cover mandatory local community costs such as the community moto-taxis, rooftop access fees, and local project contributions. These independent services are run entirely by residents of the Rocinha community and must be paid locally, as we do not absorb or profit from these neighborhood fees.Regarding your transfer, guides occasionally facilitate the payment of these local fees via Pix/transfer strictly for the convenience of guests who do not carry physical Brazilian Reais cash on the day, ensuring the local community workers are paid immediately. We strictly operate with total transparency, and all information regarding extra cash requirements is available upfront for our guests prior to booking. We regret that this standard community dynamic led to any misunderstanding, and we have already reached out to the Tripadvisor moderation team to officially clarify this matter.Sincerely,The Management Team
Trip up to the favela by motorcycle taxi: extra supplement to pay just like the access to the rooftop Peculiar experience, I do not know if I would recommend it…. Nice guide who gives us the instructions to follow, but a bit of a waste of time on the rooftop with the Q&A being too long.
An incredible discovery of the Rocinha favela thanks to the man on the ground, Carlos, and his adorable assistant. All our sympathy and support to all these good people who live there. Hats off for the organization and management, which were more than perfect, regarding this activity. Everything has been said and very well explained. Follow the guide, Carlos, sincerely, is the best. Bravo! !! ! And a big thank you to all these people.
