Ricky was awesome! I wasn't sure how to get to the meeting point so he swung by and picked me up on his motorcycle! Greatly appreciated! We ate so much food - I was stuffed! (So don't worry - you will sample plenty of delicious food). Best of all was the history he gave us regarding the tiny street cafes we visited. This along with an explanation of the food preparation method and how to properly eat it made for an interesting time! Ricky was an excellent, knowledgeable, and caring tour guide. Thank you, Ricky! We had a wonderful time exploring the delicious foods available in the Old Quarter! Rick is a fantastic guide and peppered the afternoon with bits of history and much good humor. This tour is an excellent way to learn more about the cuisine of Northern Vietnam.
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour through Hanoi. Our tour guide Nick was welcoming and knowledgeable. We did the 11:30 tour and tried a good variety of Vietnamese food along our three hour tour. It was great to have some exposure to places that we wouldn't have been game enough to try on our own. Nick even took us through some back alleys as we navigated around Hanoi which was a fun experience in itself. The food was delicious and Nick's insight made for a very enjoyable tour. Would definitely recommend doing this tour as one of your first activities in Hanoi so you can get a feel for the food you like, where is good to eat and a few tips and tricks about navigating Hanoi. We did the tour as an extended family of 6 with a baby in tow and it was well catered to everyone.

Chris and I absolutely loved this food tour in Hanoi and it ended up being one of our favorite experiences we booked through TripAdvisor. The selection of dishes of this listing was fantastic. Every stop felt like it’s a popular place or favorite and each dish gave us a different taste of Hanoi’s incredible food scene in the Old Quarter. We arrived hungry and left very happy and satisfied! Our guide Chi, made the entire evening unforgettable. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the origins of each dish, which restaurants in the Old Quarter serve them best and the little details about how locals in Hanoi actually enjoy these foods in everyday life. It didn’t really feel like a tour, but it felt like being shown around by a friend who genuinely loves her city and wanted us to love it as well. What made the tour extra special was Chi’s friendly personality. She kept everyone engaged by playing fun conversation games along the way, asking questions like favorite movies, biggest accomplishments of 2025, and other ideas that made the group feel connected. By the end of the night it felt less like a food tour and more like a delicious dinner with new friends. If you’re visiting Hanoi, this tour with Chi is absolutely worth doing.
Fun 3 hours of eating lots delicious local food. Patrick our host was fantastic. Highly recommend the 6PM tour as a dinner option as the night life kicks in.
Loved every bite of food and every minute of this tour. You will try things you haven't heard of (in fact that is their focus) and unique flavors very specific to the chosen vendors.
Mai is an excellent tour guide and she took us to a ton of different places to try a whole range of Vietnamese food. One of the things I appreciated was the variety of foods that we got to try. And even though we tried 9 different things, somehow I was able to fit it all in without feeling too stuffed. Highly recommended!

A perfect way to discover the local way of eating. Our guide Bob entertained us from start to finish with funny stories and his experiences of growing up in the old quarter of Hanoi. Food choices were perfect and we had the opportunity to try things we wouldn’t have necessarily chosen. Highly recommended.
