Entrez au cœur d'Athènes et explorez Koukaki, l'un des quartiers les plus charmants et authentiques de la ville - non pas en tant que touriste, mais en tant que local. Ce n’est pas seulement une visite gastronomique, c’est une promenade à travers ma propre histoire. Je suis né et j'ai grandi à Koukaki, et je l'appelle toujours chez moi. À travers cette expérience, je vais vous montrer ce qu’est vraiment la vie ici – au-delà des guides et dans les rythmes réels et quotidiens de la ville. Nous siroterons du vin comme le font les locaux, et nous irons dans des restaurants, boulangeries et épiceries fines bien-aimés qui ont résisté à l’épreuve du temps. Vous goûterez aux plats locaux, entendrez les histoires derrière les recettes et rencontrerez les gens qui rendent ce quartier si spécial. Koukaki se trouve juste sous l’Acropole, mais elle reste un véritable carrefour local – plein de caractère, de créativité et d’esprit communautaire. En marchant, je partagerai des anecdotes personnelles, des joyaux cachés et l’histoire moins connue de la région, vous donnant une compréhension plus approfondie de la culture locale d’Athènes – le tout pendant que nous grignotons, sirotons et flânons.

Itinéraire
Nous explorerons la rue Olympiou, la zone piétonne animée avec tous les bars et restaurants du quartier le plus local du centre-ville d'Athènes, Koukaki. Nous allons essayer un souvlaki ou des gyros à mon endroit préféré de grillades locales.
Nous allons essayer un autre snack typiquement grec salé, qui est bien sûr les tartes pâtissières phyllo. La boulangerie est une entreprise familiale locale où j'achète mon pain et mes tartes depuis plus de 20 ans. Nous aurons également des plats meze dans une taverne grecque locale (Mousaka, Tzatziki, Salade grecque, Gemista) et partagerons le vin local comme le font les habitants.
Nous nous dirigerons vers une microbrasserie locale, où je vous proposerai une bière locale grecque. Cet endroit propose des bières que l’on trouve habituellement sur les îles grecques.
Bien sûr, nous terminerons la soirée avec l'un de mes desserts grecs préférés. Je vous accompagnerai également jusqu'au point d'arrivée qui est la station de métro Akropolis et je vous montrerai la belle rue piétonne de Makrigianni et Apostolou Pavlou, où nous aurons la chance de profiter de l'Acropole éclairée ! Une manière idéale de terminer la soirée !
Nous visiterons le plus vieux quartier d'Athènes, Plaka et flânerons dans les petites rues pittoresques. Nous terminerons notre soirée par une dégustation d’une boisson grecque locale à la plus ancienne distillerie d’Athènes.

Christina, our guide was charismatic, charming and knowledgeable about her craft. Tasty assorted dishes were accompanied by thoughtful interaction . Koukaki is a can’t miss neighborhood with outstanding and authentic cuisine.
Just beneath the Acropolis of Athens, the neighbourhood of Koukaki is full of quiet streets, family-run tavernas, and spots you’d never stumble into without being with someone in the know. We met up with Christina, who was warm, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable, and she led us to four local gems and into the heart of Greek home-style cooking. Since it was just myself and a family member, Christina took up on a private and customized tour! We had a variety of amazing Greek dishes I had never tasted before which included salads, mezze, slow-cooked dishes, juicy pork souvlaki in a pita, and finally, loukoumades! These are crispy little dough puffs soaked in honey and finished with a sprinkle of cinnamon. Think of them like Greek doughnuts! It was just a perfect way to end the meal! This was such a fantastic experience and I can honestly say that meeting Christina and travelling through Koukaki with her was one of our most memorable experiences during our stay in Athens. This is a must-do tour and I highly recommend it. 10/10 stars!

What made it even more special was the rooftop experience. The views were stunning, especially at sunset, and the atmosphere was just perfect relaxed, beautiful, and memorable. It was the kind of moment you just want to pause and enjoy. On top of that, the guide was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate. You can really feel the love and effort put into creating this experience. I highly recommend this to anyone looking to discover the city in a different way, combining great food, beautiful views, and a warm, welcoming vibe. I would 100% do it again!

One of the best and final parts of my Greece excursion was a personalized food tour by Christina and this was hands down one of the best food tours I ever had! Christina is very knowledgeable about the food and culture of Greece and told some outstanding stories during the tour! If you do not book Christina you will definitely be disappointed in any other Athens Food Tour!
This was such an immersive food tour into a different part of Athens that is vibrant and unique. Kristina was an amazing host, who clearly loves her city and the history surrounding it. We were treated to all of her favourite spots - all of which were 10/10 - where feasted on items we had never tried, like moussaka and briami, as well as more familiar dishes, like gyros/souvlaki. By the time we got to dessert, I could have rolled down the Acropolis hill. It felt like excellent value for the cost and that we were in no rush for it to finish. Thank you so much for such a fun experience. Would happily recommend.
