Very nice tour with Rory! Enjoyed his guide twice with our team!
Rory was awesome and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this food tour!
Being a Houston native, I still found this Food Tour interesting and informative on Houston history and the evolving food scene on the East side of Downtown Houston. Rory was a wonderfully entertaining and friendly guide. Our friend from the West Coast (who was also a food tour guide there) gave Rory high marks for his tour. A fun afternoon for natives and visitors.
Wonderful food tour with a friendly, knowledgeable, energetic guy. I loved the food choices and all the knowledge. We are from Houston and took our out of town friends and we all had a great time, The amount of food was just right. Only water was given to us, but we could buy other drinks (and we did.) The tour was longer than we expected, which was great. The size of the group was nice and not too big. 20 is the stated max, but I would not want to go with that many people (and we didn't have to.) The food was ordered in advance in some places, but not all. I thought the fee for the tour was fair, and then at the end we tipped 25% more because it was so good. A lot of walking, but our group was up for it and the weather was perfect. I hope to take many more tours with HowdyHTown.
Great tour! Rory is a winderful tour guide, so very knowledgeable and fun to be around. Loved the company, the sights, and all the food.
Rory is the best! He took us through a wonderful walking tour of Houston and its very best restaurants. He provided a wealth of information about the city .... past, present, and future. You really can't go wrong with this delicious taste of Houston!
We did a walking tour in Houston and it was such a fun way to see the city. I’ve lived around the area for a while, but I still learned things I never knew. The guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept it interesting without making it feel like a boring history lecture. We walked through some of the downtown area and got to see a mix of Houston’s older historic spots and the newer buildings, plus some really cool murals and photo-worthy places. The pace was easy, with plenty of stops to listen, take pictures, and ask questions. It didn’t feel rushed at all. I also liked that it wasn’t just “facts”—they shared stories about Houston’s culture, food, and how different neighborhoods have grown over time. It made me appreciate the city more. If you’re visiting Houston or even if you’re local and just want something different to do, I definitely recommend doing a walking tour. Wear comfortable shoes, the guide Rory provided water, and be ready for the heat depending on the time of year!
Count us among the many happy Howdy H-Town food tour customers. We had lovely weather, our fellow tour takers were delightful, and we enjoyed great food at places we never would have tried on our own. Rory was a charming guide and has clearly put a lot of effort into crafting a well planned tour with great food and lots of interesting Houston history.
