Syntagma est la place centrale d'Athènes. La place est nommée d'après la Constitution qu'Otto, le premier roi de Grèce, a été obligé d'accorder après un soulèvement populaire et militaire le 3 septembre 1843. Elle est située en face de l'ancien palais royal du 19e siècle, abritant le Parlement grec depuis 1934 La place Syntagma est la place la plus importante d'Athènes moderne d'un point de vue historique et social, au cœur de l'activité commerciale et de la politique grecque.
Le marché central (également appelé Varvakios Agora) est situé entre Monastiraki et la place Omonoia et est un incontournable si vous aimez explorer la culture et la nourriture grecques La structure a été construite à la fin du 19ème siècle et est ouverte tous les jours de tôt le matin jusqu'à tard le marché alimentaire traditionnel du centre d'Athènes, du poisson frais, de la rencontre et des légumes pleins de goût, de couleurs et d'odeur locaux.
La rue Evripidou, pleine de trésors secrets et de parfums distinctifs qui proviennent du mélange d'aliments et d'épices qui se dégagent des magasins à façade ouverte, étroitement liés à la tradition culinaire grecque. La rue Evripidou traverse un quartier du centre d'Athènes où les horloges et les calendriers semblent s'immobiliser, où différentes races et cultures se mêlent à la vieille Athènes.

- Certains des marchés et des vendeurs que nous visitons se ferment après le déjeuner. La marche ne peut donc avoir lieu que le matin.
- Veuillez informer à l'avance si des options végétariennes sont nécessaires. La visite est adaptée aux végétariens car les végétariens ont des options à chaque endroit. Cependant, il existe des choix limités pour d'autres restrictions alimentaires telles que sans gluten ou sans produits laitiers. Les allergies graves ne peuvent malheureusement pas être prises en charge lors de cette visite.

This was a superb tour! Our guide, Tassos was so funny, knowledgeable and kind. The pace was perfect and we chatted all the way around. The food was delicious and plentiful with us tasting things and seeing streets and markets we’d never have ventured into or tried. This has been a wonderful four hours! Highly recommend
Tassos, our guide for the day, is extraordinary; he took the time to tell us the history of the city of Athens and took us on a journey through culinary history in an exceptional conviviality. He took the time to offer us several small gifts to thank us (something we had never seen before) 😍 Moreover, he accompanied us to the Acropolis site, which he was absolutely not obliged to do. Tassos was fantastic! He did a great job explaining the places, history, and the food. The value was also great, the food portions were much larger than other food tours we have done and we left the tour with bags of fruit, nuts, and olives. Would highly recommend!

This tour was wonderful and unexpected and the best tour we ever had! Visalia was a local who grew up in the city and has great knowledge of the area and all the places to eat. She knows Althean culture and traditions and how the Greeks do everything! Plus the history of the foods we tried, which were all so good! Her enthusiasm for the food and the people was infectious and our questions and conversations led us to other foods and fun off her usual script. We all had a lot of fun!
