Fantastic Full Day Tour

I highly recommend this tour, 11/10! John was our guide and driver for the day. We selected the London Eye meeting point with a 8:45am pickup time. Tip-best toilet near by is at the Premier Inn on the Southwest corner of the meeting spot, you will need to ask for a key. John was on time and we were first in the 15 passenger van. The van then headed to the Double Tree meeting spot and picked up the rest of the passengers. It was about a 2 hour drive to Stonehenge. John's lively commentary during the drive was fantastic, and the 'points system' keeps you on your toes! When we arrived at Stonehenge John went to purchase our tickets while we had a few minutes to prepare for the tour while deciding if we would walk the 1.5 miles (full sun, no water on trial) to the site or wait in a long line for the facilities bus to take us from the visitors center to the Stonehenge site. The queue for the bus was the worst part of the day. It took about 15 minutes, full sun, zero seats, and the lady working at Stonehenge let the 'public line' move way faster than the 'tour line' - John even spoke with her to try and get the very time sensitive 'tour line' to move faster and she was very rude to him about it. The facilities bus ride was fine, but they could and should have packed more people on the bus in order to make the line move faster. We arrived to the Stonehenge site and it was not really what I expected. The grass was extremely dry, mostly dusty dirt. There is a rope around the stones with security guards around-you are not allowed to touch the stones except twice per year. On the day we visited, it was the first day the school children were out of school, so there were school children everywhere. My Stonehenge tip is have sunscreen, an umbrella, water, be prepared to stand a lot, walk a lot, and have patience. Also, be sure to allow time to get back on the facilities bus from the stones to the mandatory exit through the visitor center/gift shop. We had plenty of time at Stonehenge, John determined the faculties bus queue line time and based that on our requested time back at the van! Next we headed to Bath. Beautiful drive from Stonehenge to Bath, took about an hour. On the day we were in Bath it was university graduation and the main streets were packed! John navigated the busy roads very well. A Bath bonus was we were provided with a printed map of Bath with the highlights of the city. My family chose to have lunch and cider at The Stable, I highly recommend the cider flight and mac n' cheese. We went on the walking tour with John-also highly recommend and very informative about the Roman baths. Next we headed to Cotswolds. The roads are extremely narrow and there was a lot of tight maneuvering. We went to Castle Combe, absolutely breathtaking! You can walk the entire town in about 5-10 minutes, then see the church with the oldest faceless clock, grab a pint at Castle Inn, and still have plenty of time to sit while enjoying the views. The drive back to London was about 2 hours. John was fantastic, asking everyone where their nearest drop-off to their hotel would be and organizing the easiest drop-off for everyone. For us, this reduced our walking time after a long day of walking in the hot sun, by about 10 minutes! Endless water bottles were provided in the van, fantastic free addition, especially on a hot sunny summer day. The tour van had amazing air con, seats were like airplane seats but with more leg room. Yes, it's a long day, almost exactly 12 hours, but worth it! *No need to pre-purchase your Stonehenge tickets, your guide will purchase them on site, and you will pay via cash/card after you return to the van from Stonehenge. This was our 5th full-day tour of our vacation and I can easily say it was the best due to John's hilarious commentary and his passion for England! I HIGHLY recommend this tour!

Best tour guide ever!

Hands down the best tour I have ever been on and I have travelled a bit. I loved seeing all the sights but what made it the best tour ever was the tour guide, Valerie. She was full of a wealth of fascinating details and told them in such a way that you were drawn into everything she said. I would highly recommend this trip.

Great tour and Cara is a fabulous guide!

Stonehenge was first. Our guide Cara was excellent! She stayed with our group to make sure we got on the shuttles, then gave us ample time to walk around the structure. It was a fantastic experience! Then on to Bath. We were let off right by the Abbey. We were given very handy maps. We definitely had plenty of time to explore the city. Our guide Cara even gave us a small tour to explain the workings of the spas. There is a charge to get into the Abbey, but it is IMHO well worth the admission price. Finally, we ended the day in Castle Combe. Kind of a let down after such a fantastic day, but it was an example of a small Cotswold village. If you take this tour I hope you are lucky enough to get Cara as your driver/guide! She is absolutely fabulous!! She really explained so much for us throughout the day!! I would definitely do this tour again!

Very informative. Alex was absolutely the best guide you could ask for. His knowledge of the history of each stop and in-between was impressive. He was personable and you could tell he loved what he did.

Almost Missed the Bus

We thought we had missed the bus, could not get a Taxi in time to get to the pickup location. Then about 5 minutes prior to the bus leaving (which at that point in time we had already given up making the tour) we received a call from Nolh the tour guide. He asked us where we were and said he would call us right back. A few minutes later Nolh called and said that we were basically located on the way out of town and we are coming to pick you up. Our day instantly got flipped over to the good. The tour was great and Nohl was an excellent tour guide. We enjoyed all of the stops and it was truly a great experience!! The bus was really clean and the AC was awesome on a really hot day. All of the stops were educational and really cool. We also enjoyed the commentary and music between our stops. I extremely doubt that any other tour bus company would have done what the English Bus and Nolh did for us in coming to pick us up. We are really thankful that we booked with this group and would do it again the next time we come to London! Also, Nolh thanks for cheering up Nathan along the ride! I would recommend this Tour to anyone visiting London!

A Five Star Experience from Start to Finish

We took the Small Group Cotswolds Village, Bath, and Stonehenge Tour with Tony, and it was fabulous! Tony clearly loves what he does. He’s knowledgeable, experienced, and shared interesting stories and historical details about each of the places we visited. He was friendly, flexible, and accommodating throughout the day. The tour itself is very well designed, with just the right amount of time at each destination and an excellent balance of guided commentary and free time to explore on our own. Tony communicated the day's itinerary clearly, made sure everyone knew the meeting times and locations, and kept everything running smoothly. The comfortable bus was stocked with plenty of bottled water, and we especially appreciated the effort at the end of the day to drop everyone off as close to their hotels as possible. This was one of the highlights of our trip, and we highly recommend this tour—especially if you're lucky enough to have Tony as your guide!

This is a must!

We had an amazing day touring Stonehenge, Bath, and the Cotswolds with Cara. Out of all the tours we’ve taken, this was one of our favorites. Cara was the perfect mix of knowledgeable, funny, and professional. Since Bath is her hometown, it felt like we were exploring the city with a local friend who genuinely loves where she comes from. She shared so many interesting stories and little details that we never would have learned on our own. The entire day was very well organized, and the time flew by. Stonehenge was fascinating, Bath was beautiful, and the Cotswolds looked like something straight out of a postcard. Cara kept us entertained during the drives with her humor and made history feel engaging rather than overwhelming. What we appreciated most was how approachable she was. She was happy to answer questions, gave great recommendations, and made everyone feel welcome. You can tell she truly enjoys what she does, and that energy made the experience even better. If you’re thinking about visiting Stonehenge, Bath, and the Cotswolds, we highly recommend this tour. Thank you, Cara, for helping create such a memorable day and for sharing your hometown with us. It was a highlight of our trip to England!
