Paddled through and out to the Harbour entrance. Saw a number of seals and had a redo sea kayaking experience. Our guide was well experienced, provided info along the way about seals, otters, kelp and the natural environment.
Lovely sunset kayaking on the Harbour with my family. The weather was excellent. The guide Kaylon was friendly, informative and made the experience fun.
I had a wonderful time! Our guide was kind and helpful, and the small group size meant attention was available when needed. The sunset was beautiful, would probably recommend bringing sun glasses. I went late may and temperature wise I think I was good with just a t-shirt and wind breaker, because you have the life jacket on top and you're exercising. Also got to see some harbor seals!
Amazing way to experience the city of Victoria! The kayaking was so fun and we got to learn about kelp, sea life, and a bit of Victoria history. Our guide Tlell was so kind and she did a great job of keeping us safe while moving around the harbour.
Booked a sunset tour 6 days out. Paid. At noon the day of our scheduled sunset tour - a beautiful day ,we got a text saying cancelled due to wind warning from oak bay but we could go to their other site !!! All in Victoria so obviously the weather is the same. There was zero wind and we bike all day across Victoria. We decided to stop there on our way home and guess what - no one there. Obviously the weather was not the issue. We asked them to reschedule us the following day and their answer was “ if we can find a guide “ . They never recontacted us and then we had to ask for our money back - they didn’t do it automatically
Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry you didn't get the chance to experience the water with us. As a business with a very strong safety record, we have to make difficult choices based on expected conditions to keep our guests safe and comfortable. Unfortunately, the wind warnings were significant enough to go beyond our risk tolerance. We pride ourselves on safe and fun paddling experiences. When it comes to staffing, our full-time staffing for both locations begins May 1st. This is why there was no staff to help you at our other location. We run tours & rentals on a pre-reservation basis only until May 1st. We believe there may have been a miscommunication regarding the rescheduling of your tour. Once we heard you were not interested in rebooking, the refund was processed. Thank you for visiting Victoria, and we hope you can join us on the water next time you are in town. Cheers, The Ocean River Team
Really amazing experience. Loads of wildlife and a great way to see the city. We saw a seal jump up on the back of one of our kayaks. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. So much fun
Hi Donald, We are so glad we got to share that special experience with you! Thanks for joining us on the water.
Great experience out on the water! Tilllel was great! Be ready for a little exercise and enjoy the view. We even saw seals.
The seals are amazing at this time of year! So happy you enjoyed your paddle and we hope to see you out on the water again!
Kaelan was an amazing guide! He led three of us around the harbour and beyond to go find seals and otters. We saw a pretty brand new seal pup, and the FATTEST seal we've ever seen. We named her Big Bertha. The otters were hiding on an island and I swear there were 20+ of them. It was a really great experience! Plus the kayaking was fun and our guide was super knowledgeable. I would highly recommend this to anyone. My only complaint about the sunset paddling was that the sun perfectly sits where it hits the water and blinds you a bit, so bring sunglasses.
We are so glad you had such an amazing tour with Kaelan! There is so much wildlife to discover and we are happy you met some of the locals!
Lovely kayaking trip with experienced, friendly guides, great equipment and exciting wildlife sittings on the sunset tour. Would definitely recommend!
Thank you for sharing your experience! We are so glad you had a great time, hope to see you out on the water again!
Great trip with a very knowledgeable guide. Scenery was beautiful. Really enjoyed the small group. Even had a seal job is for the end of the ride.
Thank you for your review! We are so glad you had an amazing tour. The harbour at sunset is pretty special!
