Great people. I was quite late to the meet-up point, but they gave me a call and waited for me instead of leaving. The tour itself was really good with good information about the production of pistachios and pistachio products on the island of Aegina.
We were very disappointed. We had to take a taxi from our hotel in Athens to the port. Cost 30 euros. Then by boat to the island 39 euros for two people. We were picked up neatly on time and were back in port within 1 hour. Guided tour cost 78 euros for two people and was nothing. Tasting was a spoon from a jar, but all the pictures on the site we didn't see any of it. Because the harvest is in August/September the trees were now bare. There wasn't a movie or anything where you could watch the process from start to finish. We found it mainly focused on buying as much as possible in their store. And book extra tour at 50 euros per hour to show you something of the island. And back to Athens was the same again. Boat and taxi pay. Very expensive day for what you get. Definitely not worth it. Too bad we expected more of it. At least sit down with a cup of coffee and taste some things and something of a movie when there is nothing to see like that.
Good evening, firstly, it is not the tour company's fault or problem with how much it costs you to get to the island. In the 5 years I have been hosting hundreds of people here, nobody has ever complained to me about how they arrived to the island and the cost. But, more importantly, you have me confused with another company that mentions a walk, coffee, seeing the streets of Aegina and walking to some pistachio trees. It is detrimental to write a review like this when you are confused me with another tour. My tour includes private transfer, local history on our scenic route to the organic trees, an insight into why we are often voted the number one in the world, a presentation showing photos of the trees throughout the year, discussion on the cultivating process and an exclusive behind-the -scenes guides tour of our local factory. Here fresh homemade samples are tried before going to our local stand in Aegina Town where you can try over 100 products.
We had a great time from start to finish! Tour guide was very knowledgeable and thorough. We were able to taste many of the pistachio treats. Definitely recommended!
Leo, our tour guide was super funny, a great host, and kept it interesting, overall perfect experience. Very thorough, learned how the entire process of pistachio making works, how products get created and produced. Factory was absolutely spotless and smelled absolutely wonderful! Overall 100/10
I came this month with some friends and we had so much fun learning about the history of the island on the scenic route to the beautiful Pistachio trees. Here I learned all about the history of the trees on Aegina and why these nuts are so sometimes voted the best in the world. The factory tour was a great insight! Kiki and Pantelis kept us entertained and created a really enjoyable tour! Thank you Kiki for this memorable experience !
It was (for us) to find the meeting point /lack of good way findings - the length was ok, the tour guy was informative and kind. Not knowing anything about pistachio , this was interesting for us
Be cautious before booking. Booked a ‘2-hour pistachio tour,’ but what we received was a 90-minute drive with very little actual pistachio-related activities. The tour was much shorter and not what was advertised. I requested a partial refund, which was confirmed but I haven’t received anything. When I followed up, the company tried to shift the blame to group size (“group was too small”) which makes no sense. This experience was a complete waste of time and money.
Perfect, really clear explanation and got an excellent impression of the pistache production. Also the tour guide was very good!
Everything was wonderful! Pantelis was a fabulous guide and he was also so good at engaging our kids on the tour (one of them a teenager, one a pre-teen)! We got a very nice overview of the islands history and a very entertaining overview of pistachios. Also a nice tasting a the end of it all. And their pistachios are just incredible!
An entertaining, humorous but very competent insight into the cultivation and Processing of pistachios and their importance to Aegina combined with very interesting insights into the history of the island. Definitely a recommendation!
