Mario was an excellent guide. He really got into the geology in a way we could understand. He was also very attentive to the different climbing abilities within the group.

A good trip, we had two guides, Mario for Vesuvius who was very good, he explained a lot about the history around the activity of the volcano. Then Julia was our guide at Pompeii and again she was very good. Knowledgeable about the history of Pompeii and entertaining. She made sure we were in the shade as much as possible which was very much appreciated. Our driver Genaro was also very good especially in the very narrow streets up to Vesuvius.

Perfect! I elitist highly recommend it. Mario our tour guide was great. The walk is tough but worth it.

From start to finish the tour was well organised. Apart from the Tiqet confirmation there was a follow up email from Askos from our guide Mario with clear meeting point instructions and a photo. After the 5 min publicised grace period waiting for a "no-show" we set off in the air-conditioned minibus during which Mario shared his knowledge of the region and the history of Vesuvius, and pointed out sculptures carved from the volcanic material commemorating the Pompeii victims. The walk from the minibus stop to the crater was paced cater for the varying ages and abilities of the group with Mario providing further insights and happy to take questions. We had ample time at the top to see the crater before making the return trip down the path and back to Pompeii. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and greatly appreciated Mario's guiding.

I visited Vesuvious on an excursion from Pompei, provided by Askos tours. The trip was great, well organised, and the tour guide (Mario) was knowledgable and friendly. The only downside was it happened to be the only cloudy day in a three month period! This limited the views somewhat, but it was still a worthwhile and informative trip.

My 20 year old grandson loves to hike. We took the tour but my husband and I stayed at the bus level. My grandson absolutely loved the hike. It was a very small group with only the guide and one other hiker. They were all used to hiking so it was great for them. He got great pictures all around.

A great experience, enjoyed by all the family. Mario our guide was superb and filled in the vast gaps in our knowledge , and was understanding of group, and heat. A nice steady hike. Would fully recommend to anyone moderately fit.
