A really interesting history which explains the importance of Bordeaux, the way the wine developed (storage, aging, bottling etc). The tasting was very informative and I feel I learnt something about the wine as well as enjoying it!
Very interesting exploration of wines in the city - learned a lot from this tour. Staff were very helpful and engaging and took delight in our enjoyment. Nice tasting afterwards. Merci!
This was included in the Bordeaux CityPass & I just turned up - no prior booking was required. The museum is effectively a couple of old cellars which are very well presented and takes you on a tour of wine production in Bordeaux through the ages. The wine tasting at the end involved a very good presentation on the wine region of Bordeaux and the tasting of two different wines. The shop includes many options of local wines along with other wine-based products. Definitely recommend! Very friendly wine expert giving the talk and leading the wine tasting.

I visited the Musée du Vin et du Négoce de Bordeaux and did the self-guided tour. The experience begins with downloading an audio/guide via a QR code, which walks you through each part of the museum at your own pace. It’s easy to follow and allows you to move through the space comfortably. The highlight for me was the cave itself — the underground cellar is very impressive, with a strong sense of history. The artifacts and explanations about Bordeaux’s wine trade and négociant system were interesting and gave good context to the region’s wine culture. The wine tasting at the end was okay. It’s important to note that it’s not a flight of wines — instead, you receive one glass of wine representing a region they’ve chosen to highlight. If you’re expecting multiple tastings, this may feel a bit limited. Overall, it’s a worthwhile stop if you’re interested in the history of Bordeaux wine and want to see a traditional cellar setting.
A jewel I love the ancient coast preserved far from any junk effect The place itself is already a museum; the layout is respectful of the past. For me the prettiest museum in Bordeaux at present DO NOT CHANGE!
Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, which was much appreciated. The museum offered a different perspective than the larger wine museum, La Cité du Vin further down the river. The 2 museums compliment each other very well, so perhaps both are worth visiting.
Very well. very informative continue
The Musee du Vin et du Negoce is small but definitely worth visiting - it offers a fascinating look into the history of Bordeaux wine and trade, with many historical objects and informative displays that bring the region's wine culture to life.
