L'option Tapas & History with Botín commence ici avec un verre de vermouth, les tapas maison et un peu de fromage Manchego. En dégustant cet apéritif traditionnel espagnol, vous découvrirez son histoire au rez-de-chaussée de ce qui fut autrefois la maison de Miguel de Cervantes, auteur de Don Quijote. Maison familiale et historique Casa del Abuelo. Nous irons goûter aux gambas al ajillo, l’un des plats les plus appréciés d’Espagne. Nous allons découvrir comment ce plat est réellement venu de la pauvreté bien que maintenant célébré. Nous boirons le vin maison de grand-père, élaboré dans les vignes familiales. (si option sélectionnée)
Ensuite, c’est l’heure d’un véritable festin Espagnol ! Passez les longues files d'attente qui se forment à l'extérieur avant même que le restaurant n'ouvre ses portes. Votre Guide vous montrera la grotte sous le restaurant, qui faisait partie d'un système de tunnel qui s'étendait autrefois sous Madrid, et vous emmènera dans les coulisses de la cuisine historique où des fours vieux de 300 ans font des recettes perfectionnées. Enfin, asseyez-vous pour un repas de trois services et régalez-vous de spécialités telles que le cochon de lait rôti signature Botín. (dernier arrêt pour les deux options)

This food tour with Cassie was amazing/outstanding. My previous review had a typo. Sorry. Cassie’s wealth of knowledge was amazing. Loved the tour and the restaurant visit especially as we were let in when it wasn’t open yet!!!!
Wonderful tour with Mariano of the Prado highlighting key pieces, giving detailed history of the artists and Spain, and finally a wonderful lunch with discussion after....highly recommend!!!
The Prado Museum tour and lunch was an amazing experience. Our tour guide, Cassie, was exceptional! She was flawless in all aspects of the tour - letting us know how it would go, leading and narrating us through the paintings she wanted to show us, including real life stories behind the artists and paintings themselves…it made everything that much more interesting. Cassie has a wonderful personality and was impressive with how she pleasantly connected with everyone in our group. Following the Prado Museum tour, we all walked to have lunch at the oldest restaurant in the world (really!), Botin. It was an incredible meal and experience! I can’t say enough good things about Cassie, our experience with the museum and lunch today. Highly recommend!!
Cassie is exactly the right person to lead this tour. At the Prado she talked about selected artists and paintings with charm and humour, knowledgeably setting them in their historical context. At Botin, the oldest restaurant, Cassie guided us around its complex nooks and crannies, including an ancient wine cellar. When we sat down for our meal, she informed us in the pleasantest way about what we were eating and drinking. To top it off we had a truly great group of wonderful people.
Cassie was brilliant as our tour guide! She was superb helping us throughout the whole day : so considerate & respectful to our special needs situation. Also,as she gave us insight to the masterpieces ,she made it so much FUN. The cherry on top: having lunch at the oldest European rest : El Sobrino del Botìn- GUINNESS certified!
This is one of my favorite tours in Madrid. I remember learning about Spanish Artists from High School. Being able to see these original works up close and personal was a chance of a lifetime! Thank you Cassie for the amazing tour. You kept it light, funny, and very informative! And for those other tourists taking photos inside the museum, knock it off! Don’t ruin the artwork or the experience of others. And lunch at Botin was a chef’s kiss! The fact we got to go in early and get a tour of the restaurant, wine cellar, kitchen, and all the levels of this place was amazing! I need to come back to take a photo of where Hemingway used to sit. Also….i can never at cheese cake the same way again. The food was delicioso! I strongly recommend this tour for any new visitors or repeat visitors. And ask for Cassie! She is the best!
Unbelievable! Rest Sobrino de Bot
The tour was awesome. The opportunity to see great art, learn some history, and eat wonderful food at the oldest restaurant in the world was amazing. While what we saw was saw and ate was great, I think the knowledge and personality (humorous and caring) of our guide, Cassie made it special.
This was an amazing tour that exceeded our expectations. The combination of the Prado and Botin was such a great way to experience the history and culture of Madrid but what truly made this such an exceptional tour was our guide, Cassie. She was engaging and very personable. She has such a foundational knowledge but what made her special was her ability as a storyteller. She was able to weave a historical tale which gave a rich context to the artists and their artwork. This enhanced our appreciation and understanding of the artists and Spanish history. Ending at the oldest restaurant in the world for a great meal and more cultural immersion and history was icing on the cake (cheesecake in this instance).
Cassie was amazing! She was very knowledgeable and friendly. Her passion through art and food was admirable. She had great attention to detail with not only the staff that we visited but also the members of our group. She made the art that we would normally pass by interesting and the food at the oldest restaurant was delicious.
