Visitez la National Gallery of Jamaica (NGJ), le plus ancien et le plus grand musée d'art public des Caraïbes anglophones. (Fermé le lundi) NGJ présente une collection complète d'art ancien, moderne et contemporain de la Jamaïque ainsi que de plus petites collections caribéennes et internationales. Une partie importante de ses collections est exposée en permanence. Le NGJ propose également un programme d'expositions actif, qui comprend des rétrospectives d'œuvres d'artistes jamaïcains majeurs, des expositions thématiques, des expositions organisées par des invités, des expositions itinérantes provenant de l'extérieur de l'île et son exposition phare, la Biennale de Kingston. Après une brève visite à la Galerie nationale de Jamaïque, nous nous dirigerons vers l'Institut de Jamaïque, en nous promenant pendant 10 minutes dans la galerie extérieure animée de superbes peintures murales sur Water Lane et ses rues adjacentes.
Nous flânerons dans la galerie extérieure animée de Water Lane et ses rues adjacentes dans le centre-ville de Kingston. Ce quartier artistique en constante expansion compte aujourd’hui 108 superbes peintures murales, chacune racontant sa propre histoire. Certaines des peintures murales incluent la réalité augmentée et certaines sont inspirées de différents aspects de la culture jamaïcaine. Les peintures murales représentent également des éléments d'expériences interculturelles et comprennent des caractéristiques d'artistes locaux et internationaux. Nous flânerons ensuite le long du front du port de Kingston - le septième plus grand port naturel du monde.

The guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, bringing the streets of Kingston to life. I especially appreciated the explanations of the stunning murals and street art, which provided a deeper understanding of the communities, artists, and social messages behind them. The tour offered a perfect balance of history, culture, and contemporary Kingston. Every stop was engaging, and the guide’s enthusiasm and expertise made the experience both educational and enjoyable. I would highly recommend this tour!!

This trip was a bucket list experience that more than simply checked of a dream. Marie and Donavan are more than tour guides, they will become friends. From the Knutsford pickup to coordinate with our Airbnb host nothing was to much to ask. Two days were simply not enough to do everything we wanted to do. One stop cultural tours Jamaica is a must for anyone wanting to explore Jamaica’s capital and surrounding region. I was picked up from the airport and immediately greeted with a warm and positive smile and energy. We went everywhere possible in one day from Main Street to different parks , the bob Marley museum. The tour guide’s love for Kingston and Jamaica as a whole was contagious and definitely allowed us to see it from an authentic point of view. Highly recommend!

2 wonderful tour days with Marie & Donovan! They picked us up from the bus station ( Knutsford Express). Day 1 was the Blue Mountains. Day 2 was music ( Trench Town, Bob Marley Museum) & then Devon House. Each day was engaging, insightful and fun. I love their love and knowledge of the culture.
