Thanks to the Typhoon Honey guide, there was a short deep dive into life on the Mekong. Wonderful nature, interesting insights into the processing of coconut and bamboo and a very enthusiastic guide who proudly presents his country and the inhabitants! Always happy to come back!!
Thank you Mia from Travelmate Ho Chi Minh branch for an amazing full day tour to Mekong Delta River. Boat ride was really a great experience. Fruits served was sweet and local seranade really entertained us. Lunch was also fantastic specially the fish wrap with rice paper. Hope to be back again soon. 👍👍👍.
This is an excellent insight into life onand around the Mekong River. Our guide, Fung, provided a great experience throughout the day. Sharing her local knowledge and insights into living on the Mekong Delta. Would fully recommend this tour. The food was good and people very friendly.
Dan was our tour guide who was very friendly and thoughtful. Overall it was a great tour with many activities as described. I would recommend.
This tour was a wonderful day - our guide nick named King Kong was just brilliant- lots to see and do during the day and a most memorable lunch - thank you so much for the day !
Nice experience. Guide is so nice and knowledgeable. Love the trip. Certainly will recommend friends.
Guide was totally unprofessional. Made derogatory comments about women and people from specific foreign countries. The women steering the boat told us how tired they were and literally raced us down the river. Did not feel like an authentic tour.
What a wonderful day! Our guide “Fully” and our phenomenal driver picked us up in the morning and off we went through crazy busy rush hour traffic. As we made our way toward the Mekong Delta “Fully” shared info about the city we were leave and the fertile delta we were approaching. Once at the river port We travelled from island to island in by boat and made our way on foot, by tuktuk and down a natural canal through the sugar palms by “rowboat”. We were able to visit several local “industries” and took full advantage buying handmade sweets and crafts. Fascinating demonstrations! This was all topped off by a super 7 course lunch at the river side, followed by “coconut” time on the way back to the mainland. A final temple visit ended the day—just amazing! Thank you “Fully”!!
This was a very scenic tour. I enjoyed visiting of the history of the Buddhist temple, the sampan boat ride along the Ben Tre river, and trying local fruits. We also had lunch at an interesting outdoor restaurant and were given a demo on how coconuts were harvested and made into candy, which we had the opportunity to buy. Our guide, Andy, was kind and thoughtful. There were a few things that I wish could have gone better: 1. The paid lunch was mediocre. It consisted of a whole fried fish (one per group of 3-4 people) that was dry, along with some curry chicken, fried banana flowers, and soup. One thing to note: you do have the option to buy more food and beverages at the restaurant, which we didn't do. I'm sure the food was suitable for local palates but it was just OK to me. 2. At the conclusion of our last stop on the tour (a canoe ride down the river), our tour bus driver got lost on the way to our meeting point so we were standing on the side of the road for about an hour in the heat until he found us. According to Andy, the driver didn't know how to use the navigation app, which may have contributed to the delay. Just a heads up that this could happen again. All in all, it was not a bad tour experience. Worth checking out if you are interested in venturing outside of Ho Chi Minh City!
I enjoyed my day with Typhoon Honey - we explored the Mekong Delta via boat, tuk tuk and on foot. He introduced me to honey tea, coconut candy and sugar cane juice - all delicious. I’m very grateful to have had the experience and would recommend to travellers heading to Ho Chi Minh.
