An amazing real life tour of the township of Langa. Our guide was a local so had first class knowledge of the area. We visited one of the housing blocks and interacted with a resident who told us his life story. Very interesting. Please note - a donation to the family is appreciated, so make sure you take cash with you. Next we visited the Diamond/Tanzanite factory, where we had a tour of the factory and then the opportunity to purchase. There was no pressure to purchase anything. It had amazing pieces of jewellery. Unfortunately we only got a very quick glimpse of BoKaap from the car (as we turned a corner) and didn’t get to walk through the streets, we presumed because it was raining? That was a little disappointing. Overall, it is a wonderful tour where we learnt a lot about the history of the area and saw how they are still residing today. Highly recommended.
Was very keen to visit a township on our visit to Capetown and Langa was our pick due to safety reasons. Picked up from our apartment which was a bonus as most tours operate out of certain hotel pick up and drop off spots. Very prompt and courteous driver Ambrose. He was informative and polite. Car was comfortable, clean and a bottle of water provided. We did not want to visit a Diamond store so Ambrose kindly suggested Bo Kaap for its colourful street of houses. Highly recommend Morkel tours. Thanks
We toured Langa Township with Abache and were given a personal perspective into the township. With a guide local to the area, the strong community ties were evident throughout the walking tour, making our time even more impactful. He provided important insights and historical context, helping our group learn about the current context and climate. I highly recommend if you are looking to learn about the people of Cape Town, beyond the tourist pockets.
Friendly, welcoming, respectful and provided us and our friends with wonderful laughs and memories ! Would highly recommend - made us feel safe the entire time
Great tour! A true view of township life. We went into resident homes and though the neighborhood. We saw High school children leaving the school.
We did a very individually arranged tour around Kapstafz with Orion. We were lucky with Chapmans Peak, it was open!! Great route, great restaurant for lunch and then dropped off at the airport super punctually. Highly recommended, tell us what you want, a lot is possible. Thanks Orion!
The views were amazing. Morkel was extremely professional, patient, and knowledgeable. Explained the history of the Bo Kaap township. Also ate food at local restaurant Biesmiellah. A fantastic experience.
Really can recommend this tour! Very interesting and Orion took great care of us! :) He was amazing!!
