Découvrez le cœur et l'âme de la vraie ville avec cette visite alternative à pied. Vous visiterez cinq quartiers différents, allant des havres populaires aux boulevards boutiques. Vous explorerez les marchés modernes, les murs anciens et tout ce qui se trouve entre les deux lors de cette visite amusante et active. Nous ne nous contenterons pas de vous montrer la ville, nous la partagerons avec vous, dans la véritable tradition de l'hospitalité grecque, en découvrant des endroits cachés avec des histoires à raconter! Il s’agit d’une visite en petit groupe limitée à 12 participants pour vous assurer d’avoir l’attention de votre Guide et de pouvoir poser vos questions au fur et à mesure.

La place principale d’Athènes est dominée par le Parlement National (autrefois Palais Royal) et se caractérise par une sensation vivifiante d’énergie urbaine alimentée par le va-et-vient incessant des athéniens qui traversent le carrefour le plus fréquenté de la ville pour vaquer à leurs occupations.
Depuis l’après-guerre, c’est le quartier huppé du centre-ville; grâce à ses boutiques de luxe, ses cafés chics où l’on se montre en terrasse, et ses restaurants gastronomiques, c’est là que le beau monde de la capitale se rencontre, mange et fait son shopping.
En plein cœur d’Athènes, ce quartier en ébullition permanente est connu pour son esprit rebelle, ses idées contestataires et son autonomie sociale, mais aussi pour ses dizaines de tavernes, bars et cafés très abordables, remplis d’étudiants provenant des universités à proximité.
Pendant longtemps le quartier des petits artisans et manufactures locales, aujourd’hui Psirri est devenu un des quartiers les plus branchés pour sortir dîner et boire. C’est également un des meilleurs quartiers pour suivre les dernières tendances de la très riche scène du street art athénien.
La bibliothèque d’Hadrien, d’excellentes options pour goûter le street food local, une des dernières mosquées ottomanes de la ville, et même le lit antique d’une rivière souterraine cachée dans une station de métro sont certaines des surprises qui attendent ceux qui visitent le marché aux puces et les braderies locales à la recherche d’une bonne affaire.

We had an incredible experience on the Unexpected Athens tour with Andreas! He was an exceptional guide who brought the history of Greece and Athens to life in a way that was both fascinating and meaningful. Andreas was extremely knowledgeable and did an amazing job connecting the past to what we see in Athens today, helping us understand the culture, people, and stories behind the city. One of our favorite parts was seeing the “real” Athens beyond the typical tourist stops. Since we already planned to visit the major monuments on another day, this tour was the perfect way to get our bearings, learn the history, and truly understand the city before exploring further on our own. By the end of the tour, we felt like we had a much deeper appreciation for Athens and Greece as a whole, and we left with a great sense of the lay of the land. Andreas was engaging, personable, and made the entire experience fun. We learned so much while also having a wonderful time. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Athens, especially if you want to go beyond the highlights and experience the city through the eyes of someone who truly knows and loves it.

This was one of the best tours we have ever been on….the weather today was cloudy, chilly and windy but our guide, Nicholas, made us not think about that!!! Our tour lasted over 4 hours and we visited areas that we would never have seen on our own….highly recommend booking this tour if given the opportunity!!!!
