This is an excellent way to spend time before getting on the airplane after the cruise. It includes your transportation with luggage. Well worth the money. Just make sure you get a different driver. Our driver was so boring talking about world war 2 and how the city is the spy headquarters. He repeats himself a lot. He did not say factual things even when you googled it and told him so. He likes to say McDonalds a lot like undermine them and they actually are a great company and treat employees right. He kept saying California not a right to work state so with no education you can make $100,000 a year and very cheap to live there. He kept saying Johnny Delp Neighbor so I guess ever street is his. He tried to share that he had an accounting degree I am sorry but he never spoke like an educated person or someone that should be doing this your. He is not truthful nor entertaining.
Pros: They picked us up at the cruise terminal and dropped us off at the hotel. Small group We got to see seals The guide was very polite when loading and unloading the van at every stop. Loads of info regarding where movies were filmed. Cons: We didn't stop at Beverly Hills or Santa Monica. The tour guide (Gabe) seemed to have a very negative opinion of younger people. He went off on tangents that were difficult to follow/understand.
Tour guide is in depth and knows his stuff, however most all of his references to Hollywood are much older generation finding it tough to stay engaged when you don’t know who he is talking about. Saw some cool highlights. Wish I knew we were just getting dropped off at target to look for the stars.. would have pre looked up locations to make use of my time. Rodeo drive is just a drive down the street. Venice beach was a cool experience.
Thank you for your input concerning the guide's commentary. With our tours being open to all ages, it can be difficult to have it reach all ages at all times. We encourage our guests to be involved with the tour and feel free to ask for clarification of comments or, if something along the route is not pointed out by the guide, to ask about it. With regards to star locations, there are over 2800 stars on the Walk of Fame and their locations are available online. We encourage our guests to let us know if they hope to see a particular star so that, if possible, we can point it out along the way. Unfortunately, the City of Beverly Hills has imposed vehicle weight limits and has restricted tour buses from stopping on Rodeo. That is a disappointment for us all.
Very friendly and cooperative. They were on time and give enough time to visit places. The city tour was excellent!!
Thank you for submitting your review. We appreciate your kind words.
Too much highway time. Arrived at the Griffith Obsv at 10 - didn't open till noon. Driver went on and on and on about financial politics rather than more interesting facts about the city.
Welcome to Los Angles. It is a big place and its attractions are spread out. Unfortunately, the only way to get to them involves highway travel. Just the initial trip from Long Beach to downtown Los Angeles is over 30 miles. We wish we could shorten that, but that is not possible. With respect to the Observatory stop. We go there to see the impressive view over Los Angeles (it is 2200 feet above the city) and to provide a first view of the Hollywood sign. Entering the observatory is not part of the tour as it is an attraction which would add considerable time to the already full day tour. Our guides are experienced professionals who share considerable knowledge about the attractions while also attempting to provide additional comments which are of interest to our guests. With up to 14 people in the bus, it is not unusual for something of interest to some guests would be less interest to others.
Great tour and guide very knowledgable with lots of fun facts. A great way to spend the day before flying out LA.
Thanks for your review. We very much appreciate your all the most welcome words. We are curious as to what more we could have done to kick the review up one star. Thanks again for your review.
We had a wonderful day touring the highlights of LA with Alberto - from seeing the Hollywood sign to a walk on Venice beech. He was very knowledgeable about LA and the movie industry and we thoroughly enjoyed his stories about meeting various stars over the years. It was the perfect way to fill our day before catching a flight home. (Was a small group tour with pickup at the cruise port and drop off at the airport).
Thank you for submitting your review. I have shared your kind words with Alberto and he has asked me to express his appreciation for what you have said. Many of our guests are cruise passengers who come off the ships in the morning and have late evening flights from LAX. Our tours provide a convenient way to see some of our local attractions rather than spending hours sitting in the airport waiting for their flight. I am glad you were able to take advantage of that service.
Alberto was an awesome tour guide and really brought this experience to life. He made each of us feel welcomed to Los Angeles and gave us so many random fun facts about this place I feel kind of like a native, lol. But seriously, my husband and I had an awesome time and would recommend this tour to anyone coming to LA.
Wow... I have shared your most welcome review with Alberto and he has asked me to thank you for all you have said. Your support and recommendation is very much appreciated. Thank you very much.
This was a fantastic all day tour! We were given plenty of time at stops and it was a very comprehensive tour of L.A. We saw downtown, surrounding neighborhoods, and beaches. My husband and my favorites were the conservatory where we could see all over including the "Hollywood" sign, driving through Hollywood, walking down Hollywood "Walk of Fame", Beverly Hills, eating lunch at Mel's Diner, and seeing all the beaches! Our tour guide, Gabriel, was very personable, knowledgeable, and packed in more sights than I could imagine we could see in 1 day. Highly recommend!
Thank you for submitting your review. As you indicated, we have loaded the tour with as many attractions as possible. We appreciate your recommendation. Thanks again.
Mel’s diner. And exceptional tour guide. Forgot his name. All good except Venice Beach………………! Van too old.
Thanks for sharing your input concerning your recent tour with us. I appreciate your comment concerning the guide, I have shared it with him. With respect to Venice Beach, that is something of "problem child" for us. Some people love it, others hate it. It is a well known LA attraction and we have received complaints when we have removed it from our itinerary. Venice is usually very popular for the younger guests. I presume that your "Van too old" was referring to the general age of the group on your tour and not about the age of the vehicle. The oldest vehicle in our fleet is less than 3 years old. Hopefully, the other stops along the way did meet with your approval. You said, "Mels diner" but did not say if you enjoyed it or not. Thank you for submitting your review.
