Very interesting tour. Visiting the best spots in old Jerusalem. The guide, Yoav, who was extremely knowledgeable, friendly with a great sense of humor made this a great experience for all participants.
Thanks for sharing that you had a great informative and memorable tour experience with Yoav. Always good to receive such feedback.
A well organized trip, the guide (Frank) is knowledgeable and friendly. Did his best to fulfill the programme by communicating with the driver and other guides on what turned out to be a very busy day with respect to the crowds. The only thing I’d say is we could have a bit more time at the Holy Sepulchre, as the queues were really long, but I guess it wasn’t easy to predict. Overall, a really nice and educating tour.
Much appreciate your sincere review of your tour with Bein Harim. Frank deserves your feedback for his efforts and professional tour management.
We enjoyed the trip and our guide was very engaging and knowledgeable. On the downside, we had been on the bus an hour and we’re still sitting in a car park in Tel Aviv waiting for other buses to meet up with us to all shift around customers. It seems there should be a more time efficient way to do this. Then we had the misfortune to be in Jerusalem on the day of the marathon. Much traffic and more waiting at another pick up spot for people running late. However our driver was knowledgeable of the city and did his best in a difficult time. We saw all the sites that were listed. However very little time was spent at each site. Much time was spent outside of each location describing what we were to see which after the delays of the morning was frustrating. Since this is a once in a lifetime trip, we were prepared and knew what each stop was. To have such limited time to see these amazing places after standing and listening to a 10 minute description was disheartening. Also, spending 30 minutes in the “approved” gift shop was not enjoyable. I wish we had been told how long we were to be there because I would have walked around the area and looked in the stalls more. As it was, we didn’t know when we were leaving there so we couldn’t wonder too far. I think it was the place we spent the most time other than lunch. Lunch was good. You don’t order from a menu but cold sandwiches were already prepared which was perfect I think. It was very quick and efficient which I appreciated. The location and view were nice. The drive home was much more efficient. Customers had been sorted by their drop off locations prior to leaving so it was a quick drive back to to Tel Aviv. Also- for those worried, there were frequent toilet stops. Our guide joked that part of his job for the day was to guide us from one loo to the next and he delivered. 😊 All in all, I do recommend this day trip. It’s a good introduction to the old city. I think it’s mostly accessible to everyone who can walk a moderate amount. There was nothing strenuous and the pace was easy. What I do recommend is after you take this trip, plan another day in Jerusalem on your own to more deeply explore the places that there wasn’t enough time for.
Appreciate you taking the time to provide a most detailed report and review of your tour. You have mentioned most of what needs to be known for travelers. Guides do arrange tour schedules to cater for all kinds of travelers. Roughly said ours is a broad scale intro to the city. one should certainly return to explore if time permits.
44 people in group, 90% time could not hear guide sue to number of people in between. Stories 30% of the time didn’t relate to Israel at all . Learned more about China than Jerusalem. Most stops felt “commercial “ more than holy (and visit was on Sabbath) Often stories trailed off into nowhere. Wine drinkers in southern Europe, beer drinkers in north because…. The Easter Europeans were orthodox and western pagan gentiles with days of week named after them. I’m sure this tied somehow to the holy land we were visiting but not only were the facts incoherently put together I have no idea how these related to the places we visited Seemed adhoc
Most regretful to read that this was the nature of your experience traveling with one of our guides. Unfortunately you have not mentioned the date of your travel so we can follow up and hold our guide accountable for what you mention here. This certainly does not sound like the level or content of commentary that needs to be provided. by any of our guides..
