Description
Niché dans les contreforts patchwork du magnifique Kilimandjaro se trouve le magnifique village de Materuni, qui abrite nos amis Chagga et célèbre pour son café riche et aromatique. Au cours de cette journée parfumée et amusante, vous marcherez sur la route courte mais difficile vers les chutes de Materuni et vous pourrez vous tenir sous les eaux alors qu'elles tombent en cascade dans une piscine de tranquillité sans danger pour la baignade. Et vous aurez envie de vous lancer directement - après avoir transpiré (ok, brillant) de votre randonnée, il n'y a rien de plus apaisant que de flotter dans les eaux fraîches de la montagne du Kilimandjaro. Sur le chemin vers / depuis les cascades, vous aurez la chance d'entrer dans un bar local pour tester le vin / la bière à la banane. Ensuite, vous aurez l'occasion de préparer votre propre tasse de café de la bonne manière et vous découvrirez le secret de la tasse de café parfaite des Chagga locaux. Profitez de votre déjeuner chaud local, puis nous vous dirons au revoir et commencerons à retourner dans la ville de Moshi après cette expérience mémorable !

Itinéraire
Vous serez pris en charge à Moshi ou à votre emplacement défini le matin, par notre chauffeur, qui vous conduira au village de Materuni. À votre arrivée, vous vous inscrirez au bureau du village et votre voyage pourra commencer. Vous visiterez d'abord les cascades, qui sont à environ 35 minutes à pied. En chemin, votre guide vous informera sur la culture des Chagga, la vie du village et vous expliquera la faune et la flore environnante. Les vues sont vraiment à couper le souffle et, avec un peu de chance, vous verrez le sommet du Kilimandjaro. La piscine au bas de la cascade est un endroit invitant pour une baignade rafraîchissante alors n'oubliez pas votre maillot de bain ! Après avoir apprécié le paysage, vous revenez lentement avec votre guide dans une maison traditionnelle où vous ferez l'expérience d'un déjeuner Chagga traditionnel. Ensuite, l'expérience du café vous attend. Ici, vous apprendrez comment le café est cultivé, séché, torréfié et transformé et vous préparerez votre propre tasse de café et de boisson. Après cela, nous commençons le trajet de retour à votre hôtel à Moshi.

I really enjoyed the tour. The Guild were really nice and explained everything really well. We started with a nice Scenic route up the mountain. Visited a local farm and learned everything about coffee. I made my own coffee from the beans whilst the local people were singing and dancing. Witch was amazing. After this we had a nice hike to the waterfall witch was beautiful. Definitely worth it. The lunch was delicious.
An essential tour if you are in Moshi. Nick is a very professional local guide and Materuni local guides as well. You will spend an unforgettable day

Thanks Nick for a great tour. We ground and made our own coffee the way the local do it, before getting to drink it. After hiking up to the waterfront and back we were treated to a tasty lunch. This felt like an authentic experience and contributes to the local people. No pressure. Nothing was rushed. A great day.
A big thanks to Nick and guide OZ for making this tour memorable. We first stopped off at a village in the foothills where the locals grow their own coffee shrubs. The process from berry to cup was shown along with singing and dancing. Then we hiked up to the waterfall listening to Africa by Toto and Queens Bohemian Rhapsody( Freddie Mercury was of course born in Zanzibar). Then back to the village for a traditional lunch with Banana beer. Nick and his partners go the extra mile to make sure you have a special experience to remember. I started out as a customer and left Tanzania with Nick as good friend for life.
This was amazing, the walk, the views and if you love coffee, you must do this trip. We learned also a lot about the people and plants there, and lunch was great!
Excellent guide. The coffee experience was informative and engaging. The waterfall is beautiful and a nice day hike. It’s a great tour for people about to head out on the Kilimanjaro trek.
Nick is very punctual and helpful and speaks very good English. He knows and explains a lot. His tours are always well organized including lunch with the locals. Try not to lure you into shops after the tour to buy souvenirs or similar as many other guides. Highly recommended.
We chose with nick which itinerary was best suited to us. We preferred to see the Materuni waterfalls and took us there on the first day combined with the coffee tour. The second day we wanted to visit the chagga village and after relax and take a bath at the chemka hotsprings. Nick is very helpful and explains a lot of things along the way. Driving very safe also because it is in the mood of the pole pole area (slowly). Recommended

Spent a great day in Materuni and the Hotsprings! Stunning nature along the hike and a very friendly and knowledgeable guide who answered all my questions and explained a lot! Also, nice experience to discover local coffee production and and a delicious lunch. The weather wasn’t too great at first, but the gloomy atmosphere gave it a beautiful vibe and it didn’t matter at all! Asante sana!
