Explanation accurate and precise, the guide told the history of the city and also anecdotes, giving us tips for any insights.
This is advertised as an English walking tour but is actually 50% in Italian in the first 30 minutes we only moved 30m. The guide was not engaging and quiet in a very noisy square. We couldn’t understand when she was speaking English or Italian. So we had to leave the tour
Dear David, We are truly sorry for what you wrote. In our tour it is well specified that the visit can be conducted in Italian, English, or both languages. Our guide Claudia has always received very positive reviews. By the way, you did not warn the guide when you left the tour and Claudia came back to look for you for more than ten minutes, which also put the rest of the group in trouble.
Allesandro was so kind and informative. The tour was a fun and unique way to see the countryside. The wine tasting and meal was excellent!
Our tour guide, Claudia, did a great job showing us around the city, sharing bits of history, and keeping the tour interesting. She showed us some places that were "off the beaten path" in addition to the touristy spots. Claudia described everything in both English and Italian keeping the facts interesting and moving the tour along at a good pace. Highly recommend!
Parking was a nightmare. We arrived early but finally parked at almost 11:00. Had to take bus(as recommended) but bus drove all around town first before letting us off at entrance. By the time we made it all the way up the hill it was too late for the tour. You should give more detailed instructions.
San Gignano is a beautiful, historically significant, very unique, must visit. However my advice would be to make sure you don’t get a bi-lingual tour if you can help it. We spent more than half the tour waiting to hear our guide speak to us. After a while, we just left. The Viator app left no indication the tour was in two languages.
Cartia was a fantastic guide. She took time to explain everything in both Italian and English and was very happy to answer everyone’s questions.
In a group of 20 people, we were to only non Italian speaking people. The guide took his time to explain everything in English for us. Very skilled guide, perfect balans between history and culture. Nice pace.
