Marianna gave a fantastic tour. She paced the tours very well and was very responsive to questions. The sights and scenery were fantastic. The bus ride from Madrid was comfortable. The only way I think the tour could be improved is the audio devices- they were a bit uncomfortable to wear for an extended period and it was difficult to hear through them at times, but the tour was great even without using them continuously.
Maria did a great job of leading our tour. She has lots of enthusiasm and really likes to give the tour.
I should have known that things were not going to go well when the tour guide came out of the office, almost whispered "Segovia", and walked out of the building without looking back to see if anyone followed him. By the time we got to the bus, he was fully a half-mile away without once turning to see if anyone was following him at all. Btw, I use a cane, and there were members in the group who are elderly, and others who had small children with strollers. My hopes for a good tour rekindled while we were on the bus. Although the tour guide never gave us his name and was not on the personal side, his knowledge of the town of Segovia was extensive and his English was very good, which made it easy to understand him. However, once we got off the bus we found that not everyone had headphones for the tour. One man approached him to request a pair, and he was brusquely told that he expected 28 people, but 33 came - so those who didn't get headphones in the bus were out of luck! (Needless to say, if the guide had bothered to address us before leaving for the bus and counting heads while still at the office, this would not have happened). As the tour continued, so did the fast pace through town. Once we arrived at the cathedral, more problems ensued. An elderly couple with their teenage grandson were told they did not pay for the 30 minute cathedral tour - even though they had the receipt to show that they did. No matter. They must wait outside. My sister and I did not pay for this part, and we were told to meet outside the cathedral in a half hour. We were there early, waited and waited with the other family, only to figure that the group finished early and left without us! (a total of 5 people) We hurried on to the Alcazar (which we had paid for), and by the time we got there, the security guard said our group had finished at least 15 minutes earlier (so, no half hour tour there either). While deciding on our next move (we tried calling Julia Travel and they hung up on us), we ran into some of the other tourists in our group. It seems the guide decided, after finishing the Alcazar, to go look for us. We never saw him on our way down, so are unsure where he went. Whatever the case, he never talked to us or even looked at us when he got back. No explanation. No questions. No nothing. Just another fast pace to the bus, where he outflanked us by a half mile. I don't recommend this company at all.
Everything was great. Outstanding. If I could add one criticism, an extra half hour for more free time would have earned a distinction.
Mariana was charming; she made it very enjoyable
Mateo gave a good tour and had a good knowledge of the town
Overall a great experience. This is a short trip as it starts at 3 PM. The guide will cover both the places and give you some time for taking photos and breaks. Thank you our dear guide Mariana for the experience!
Fabulous guide Marianna. It was an amazing tour
Booked this via Get Your Guide, very pleased we did. After a very comfortable, air conditioned coach journey of about an hour, we arrived at Segovia. Miguel was an excellent guide, and kept us well informed and organised, and on time. The Alcazar was amazing, the Cathedral beautiful and the Acqueduct quite stunning. Segovia itself is lovely, and it would have been nice to spend more time in the squares and streets, so we'd recommend a full day trip. But couldn't fault the half day option really.
Very good tour, recommendable
