Stathi was so informative and interesting. He always made sure we knew everything there was to know about Greek history and art. The bus journeys were long, but there was WiFi and Stathi narrated a lot of what was around. There were stops for bathroom and snacks. All in all an amazing experience!!
My husband and I took the four-day Classical Greece Tour with Chat Tours 23 years ago, and the wonderful memories stayed with us all these years. This summer, when our daughter wanted to visit Greece, we didn't hesitate to book the same tour again with Chat Tours, and it did not disappoint. Our guide, Valeria, was absolutely amazing, and our driver, Thenasis, was equally outstanding. The four-day itinerary was perfectly planned, and our stays at the Amalia Hotels were very nice. Everything was well organized from start to finish. We highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience the highlights of classical Greece.
As there are lots of history in Greece, tour guide is very responsive to tell us the story and at the end time to take photos is less. It will be better to give us more time to take photos.
We had booked for a bilingual 4-day tour. The day before the activity, around 3:20 PM, we were called to inform us that the bilingual guide was sick and that the tour would be in English. They gave us the opportunity to cancel; however, canceling would have been too disorganizing. First for the availability of the hotel and then what to do with these 4 days?? We could not move the tour either because the bilingual tours only depart on Mondays, and our next Monday was scheduled for the islands! Thus, although very disappointed, as we knew that some would only understand partially, we decided to go on the tour anyway. If this happens to you, I recommend downloading the H H guide app (Hellenic Heritage Guide); you will thus have the information and explanations in French for the first three sites you will visit. The tour is well organized, the sites are truly impressive, particularly Delphi and the Meteora. The guide knew her subjects very well and provided a lot of explanations. She did her best to adapt to everyone; she spoke slowly and clearly, but we still lost part of the explanations due to the language barrier. Sometimes, it is necessary to climb steep slopes, and the ground can be slippery. There are many hours of driving to do, but there are also enough stops. These are beautiful, slightly worn hotels, but with very nice views. There is a pool in each hotel. The rooms are large and comfortable. There are not many electrical outlets in the rooms; a power strip or a multi-USB charger will be practical. The meals at the hotel are decent buffets. If you are ready to drive quite a few hours, it is a very beautiful circuit, very well organized.
Tour was great, tour guide exceptional. Only negatives were the: - location of most of the hotels were often out of town and meant we were unable to further explore at the day’s end - although lunch is your own expense we were taken to places where there was no other venue but the one chosen by our tour leader. That being said, the food was fresh, plentiful and tasty, there were several menu options to choose from.
great amount of knowledge about the Ancient Greek world . Our guide was terrific and the accommodation very good
This tour was great! It was so nice to sit back and enjoy the itinerary (without having to plan it myself). We saw many fabulous places with so much history. Our guide, Stavros, was a wealth of knowledge and provided us with a lot of information and mythology about the various spots. Hotels were very comfortable and food was tasty. Definitely a great way to see more of Greece.
The tour was comprehensive and well-paced. Accommodation was excellent. Food was a bit repetitive. Stavros was an amazing tour guide with a wealth of knowledge. Particularly appreciated how Stavros contextualized each part of history within the longer timeline. However Stavros' political commentary were not necessary or appropriate.
This was absolutely an excellent tour. It was so relaxing and informative. Joy our tour guide was the best. She captivated us with her stories and knowledge of Greek Mythology. The tour was well organized, and it was a stress-free experience. This is a must do tour when in Greece.
Valeria was excellent: knowledgeable, fluent in English and efficient. Our business driver was highly experienced and drove very well. The hotels were also very good.
