Poussé par la mère de l’émir Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Education City est une initiative de la Qatar Foundation for Science, Technology, Education and Community Development. Situé dans la municipalité d'Al Rayyan, il abrite certaines des plus grandes universités du monde, la Bibliothèque nationale du Qatar, un centre d'études islamiques, le musée Mathaf (qui abrite la plus grande collection d'art moderne au monde), l'orchestre philharmonique du Qatar, le cheval Al Shaqab Racing Academy et Oxygen Park.

La Bibliothèque nationale du Qatar agit en tant que gardienne du patrimoine national du Qatar en rassemblant, préservant et rendant disponible l’histoire enregistrée du pays. Dans son rôle de bibliothèque de recherche avec une bibliothèque patrimoniale prééminente, la bibliothèque favorise et promeut une meilleure compréhension globale de l'histoire et de la culture de la région du Golfe.
Mathaf Collection, copropriété des musées du Qatar et de la Qatar Foundation, détient désormais plus de 9 000 œuvres, ce qui en fait la plus grande collection spécialisée du genre au monde. Un premier groupe d'œuvres a été rassemblé par S.E. Cheikh Hassan bin Mohammed bin Ali Al Thani.
L'Orchestre philharmonique du Qatar joue et promeut la musique occidentale et arabe afin d'inspirer les enfants et les adultes du Qatar et du monde arabe à créer et apprécier la musique
Al Shaqab est un hommage durable au cheval arabe et à la tradition d'excellence équestre qui a co-évolué avec cette race au Qatar.

Very good. Made us want to came to Doha for more days
We recently took a private half-day architectural tour of Doha with guide Mr. Ahmad. We wanted to learn about the culture and history of Qatar and this far exceeded our expectations. Mr. Ahmad greeted us promptly at the lobby of our hotel with a warm smile and immediately tailored the itinerary to our interests and what we have seen so far. What set Mr. Ahmad apart was his passion and storytelling ability; he spoke clearly, with excellent English, and paced the tour perfectly so as not to feel rushed. He was flexible, patient with our many questions, and went above and beyond by recommending places for lunch afterward. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Doha, and Mr Ahmad made this visit feel accessible and exciting. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking a personalized, enriching tour—worth every penny! If you’re in Doha, book with him; you won’t be disappointed.
I had an absolutely wonderful and informative tour with Ahmed to Doha's Education City. He took his time to explain the buildings that are part of Education City. He allowed plenty of time for me to take photos. Ahmed also took me to see the newly opened Crystal walk. A 5-star tour. Highly recommend this tour. You got to visit their library, it is one of a kind.
