We were very prompt making our way around the city to all of the destinations. It was good to see the sights but the guide provided very little other than a 2 minute blurb before we see things. Questions were answered but not encouraged. Aside from the logistics of getting to the different destinations and navigating all of the ticket purchasing, there was little value in this tour. What kept me from being too grumpy in the end was the lunch was delicious.
Rating this tour as average since we did not stop by several locations in the itinerary despite it being indicated on Viator. These stops are Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, and One Pillar Pagoda. I would have loved to experience Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum as we had spent all that time learning about his impact to Vietnam's history. The tour experience itself was fantastic. Our guide was punctual, responsive, engaging, and accommodating to our group which included two seniors and a toddler. When asked why we skipped the mausoleum, our guide expressed surprise as she did not seem to know that the stop was supposed to be included.
Dear Our Guest ..! First of all on behalf of Eco Travel, I would like to sincerely apologize for the confusion and for the fact that the trip did not meet your expectations. We offer two options for the Hanoi city tour: 1. Hanoi City Tour only : This covers all the places you mentioned. 2. Incense Village + Hanoi City : With this option, we do not visit the interiors of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, or the One Pillar Pagoda due to time constraints. Since you chose Option 2, the itinerary differed from what you had envisioned , however had you chosen Option 1, we would not have been able to visit the Incense Village. We are very sorry for this misunderstanding.
A superb busy day with a very good tour guide in Kenny. Very knowledgeable, very interesting and very good at communicating. Some superb places visited, and the best of the day goes to 'Train Street'. Fascinating and bewildering. And thank you to the rest of the party who made the day more enjoyable. Highly recommended
Had an amazing Hanoi full day tour with Mr Lucas. He is very knowledgeable about the history in the city and gave us a detailed history lesson about Vietnam’s past. Recommended!!!
Everything went perfectly, timely pickup, enough time at the sights, our "guide" always kept an eye on everyone. I would book again!!!
We had a wonderful experience with Kenny from Eco Tours Vietnam in Hanoi. He was incredibly kind, patient, and understanding with our 3-year-old daughter, who completely adored him — she spent the tour calling him “teacher” and holding his hand everywhere we went, which was honestly very sweet. He handled toddler unpredictability with remarkable calm and warmth, which made the whole experience much more relaxing for us as parents. Kenny was knowledgeable, friendly, and helped us enjoy Hanoi in a way that felt personal and welcoming. The only small area for improvement would be slightly clearer communication about the itinerary and timing beforehand, but overall the experience was excellent and we would absolutely recommend both Kenny and Eco Tours Vietnam to other families traveling with young children.
