Very good services, excellent and efficient guide speaking good English and providing sufficient infirmation. I recommdnd to all travelers.
We were picked up promptly at the time arranged. Nini (our guide) was very cheerful and very informative. Her English was good and we appreciated her local knowledge. We really enjoyed the water town itself. Despite what I had read, the day we visited the village was not over-run with tourists even though it was a fine day. The local shops obviously cater for the tourist trade, but the shop owners live in the town (often above the shop) so this made it feel more authentic. Our visit to the silk factory was informative, but more time was spent there than necessary. The process and products were fascinating. The Chinese style dinner was tasty - at a restaurant in a bustling Chinese food precinct. We were in a corner that had storage shelves beside, but we enjoyed the cuisine. We did think we would be dining on the river, but this was not the case. The river cruise is very pretty with all the buildings around the Bund lit up. It took less than an hour, but was a great experience. Nini left us after the cruise and the driver returned us to our hotels. The only real negative of the day was the condition of the mini-van. It was older and had a lot of major squeaks and rattles, not enough seat belts, and very poor suspension. There were 3 of us in the back seat and by the end of the evening we had sore backs from the rough ride. That aside, I would recommend the tour as being good value for money and a great experience.
It's not so much a tour as it is transfers and assistance. But worth it for the ease, Shanghai has been hard to navigate. Although our guide did give us some information on the drive to Zhujiajiao. The water town is definitely worth seeing - boat rides cost extra but worth it. The silk museum was interesting and we rushed through it at our pace! Dinner was not on board the river cruise, it was in a little cheap looking local place, but was interesting. The cruise was stunning!! You can pay 50rmb each and go out the front- do it!!! It was insanely crowded otherwise.
Not a “mini” group but rather large. Not even a “tour” just a ride to Zhujiajiao with instructions to meet back up after an hour of free time. The part of town they take you to is HIGHLY commercialized, skip it. Silk “museum” is actually a shop where they put the pressure on to buy and don’t let you leave for a long time. Dinner: worst food in shanghai, barely edible, also NOT onboard like advertised. More free time on the bund while you wait for cruise, oh wait the tour operator didn’t get tickets early enough for the cruise so it’s another 45 minutes of free time on the bund! Finally get to the riverboat cruise, VERY crowded, but still best part of tour. Drop off at hotel takes foreeeeeeeeeeever because they have to drop everyone else off first. Skip this tour. Pay a little more and get something worthwhile. Also, tour guide Jason was full of misogynistic jokes so if that’s your style then maybe you should go on the tour.
Dear Simmy0689, We are sorry to hear that your trip went poorly. It’s always our goal to see our guests have a great time and it sounds like your day didn't turn out anything like what you expected. We mainly offer Mini Group Tours with max 6 people as well as private tours, and meanwhile we’re the operator of some coach tours. Most of our customers would choose Mini Group Tours or private tours, especially Mini Group Tours with amazing value. The coach tour you did with cheaper price normally has more than 10 people in the group. As an explanation for part of your experience, coach group tours usually go to areas that are more commercialized. It was intended for those who have limited budget. We sincerely thank you for your detailed feedback from which we realize that customers choosing this product may not be able to have a good experience. We will feedback and communicate with the supplier to improve or even remove this product as soon as possible. However, perhaps as much as anything, we are troubled to hear that your tour guide made inappropriate jokes. That’s the first time we have heard a complaint about that. That does not reflect our company’s values and we’ll follow up on that. Thank you for bringing all these things to our attention as it helps us continually improve and provide better services. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience it caused you. Could you please email us directly so that we can better help you resolve this? We look forward to receiving your email and further addressing the things you mentioned. Customer Care Team inquiry@trippest.com
We purchased 2 tours and had the pleasure of having Ding as our guide for both tours. He took us to the watertown and led us through the narrow streets. Our tour included a gondala ride through the city. Wonderful!

The tour was very nice and well organized. I would have liked if our guide, Leo, would have showed us around a little in Zhujiajiao but we did enjoy the free time. Leo was very knowledgeable about the city and provided lots of insight. He also went above and beyond by helping us with other accommodations and recommendations. He was definitely an amazing resource and knew what he was doing.

This is not worth seeing - there's nothing much - our tour guide Jason wasn't helpful either - he's always on his phone and we definitely had lots of free time since he would just leave us quite often and when walking, he would walk ahead of us on his own quite often. The included dinner that was part of this tour was just awful as the food wasn't even hot.

It was a very ice Tour . Especialy the night cruise was worth thr money. When in Shanghay, the night cruise is a must.

This was a very enjoyable tour and we would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting to experience Shanghai and its surroundings. Leo, or tour guide, was very knowledgeable and full of interesting information about the sites and Shanghai life. The water town was really interesting but we were a little disappointed that the river boat was not included in the cost of the tour as everyone wanted to do it and it really was a highlight.
The night tour on the river was amazing but again, in order to get access to the top deck, the only way to take photos we were charged extra on top of the ticket price in fairness this may have been due to the National Holiday as Leo did not seem aware of this
Just a warning .....we were herded to a couple of shops, a Silk shop and a Pearl and Jade shop which were blatant attempts to sell gullible tourists overpriced goods. Not unexpected, but as we had been taken to the exact same two stores on a previous tour 2 days before, it was a little annoying!

Not as advertised. No buffet dinner during the cruise. You had to pay extra to get on the top deck on the cruise boat. Many disappointments.
