I would highly recommend the Soca Valley Tour and Kranjska Gora Valley tour. Our guide, Tillian, was fantastic and provided us with interesting information about Slovenia and the various mountains in this beautiful country! We visited stunning waterfalls, rivers and lakes, and they took us to the top of the mountain which was spectacular! The driver was also fantastic navigating the winding roads as well as the cyclists!
The guide was really friendly, clear communication, gave great facts about Slovenia, clear pick up points and always on time. Soča was fantastic, the driving was good, a bit sketchy on the pass, I think they should use automatic vehicles as it was a hard part to drive in a half bus, but the driver was lovely and friendly given the circumstances. I would highly recommend this tour. It’s defo an all day tour so be prepared for a fab long day! 8am-6:30pm but we were totally fine with this as we knew it was a full day tour experiencing beautiful places in Slovenia.
We picked the Soča Valley tour and Kranjska Gora Valley tour which is a 10 hour day covering stunning areas of Slovenia. We are a family party of four adults and then four other people made up the group of eight. We had the most wonderful trip this week with our driver, Jožef from ‘To Do in Slovenia’. He was very friendly and a good driver, we felt very safe in his capable hands. He had great knowledge of the areas we visited and kept us entertained with stories and information about Slovenian history, industry, traditions, culture, legends, war history and much more, all with a great sense of humour. He was happy to answer all our questions. It was a very hot day but the transport was air conditioned and the tour was paced well with comfort, refreshment and lunch stops spread between visiting all the stops on the tour. Jožef offered us extra water when needed and nothing was too much trouble. The places we visited were some of the most beautiful we have seen, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Alongside visiting the stunning river valleys you visit the Kozjac waterfall. You need good soles on your trainers or hiking shoes. I myself have dodgy knees, but I was able to do all the walking and it is easily accessible with a hiking pole if you need it. There is the opportunity of swimming in the river of the Soča valley alongside the Slovenians who have a wonderful time on hot days relaxing in the cool waters. So bring your ‘cozzie’. For us it was a lovely way to cool down, some of my family had a swim, I dipped my feet in and it was refreshing and good fun. The tour includes the treat of travelling the Vrśič Pass with its 50 hairpin bends. Thanks to our great driver no one was ill, but do bear in mind to take your travel sickness tablets or travel bands if you are a little uneasy about that. Even in this, the tour gives you a break or two just in case you need it, stopping at views of majestic mountains with a legend attached and the beautiful yet thought provoking sight of the Russian church. Before heading back to Ljubljana, you get to visit the beautiful lake Jasna. I cannot praise this tour enough, there’s lots to see so be prepared to hop out the minivan regularly, spend a bit of time to take in the views and pop back in the transport ready for the next delight. This is a must do trip if you want to get to see the beautiful mountains, lakes and rivers that Slovenia has to share.
What a great tour guide. He was a young man, only 21 years old but very welcoming, informative and a wonderful driver. This trip involves a lot of travelling and some very rural roads up the mountain pass. Loved getting out of the city and definitely worth seeing
We are so thrilled to hear this! Having a guide who handles those winding mountain pass roads with total ease while keeping things informative and welcoming is incredible. Getting out of the city and taking in those spectacular alpine views makes all the traveling so worth it! Thank you so much for traveling with us and sharing your review!
This excursion is highly recommended, especially if you are only going to visit the city. During one day you will see some of the best places in Slovenian nature. Our guide was fantastic, with a very funny sense of humor, and she showed us everything that was scheduled and more.
This excursion comes highly recommended, especially if you are only visiting the city. In a single day, you'll see some of the best spots in Slovenian nature. Our guide was fantastic, with a great sense of humor, and showed us everything on the schedule and more.
It’s beautiful but high paced. We went to a lot of places, it was amazing to see. But i personally would prefer more time to really take it all in.
Thank you for sharing your feedback! We're so glad you enjoyed seeing so many beautiful places, but we completely understand wanting more time to truly soak it all in. Striking the ideal balance between seeing the highlights and having a relaxed pace is so important. We really appreciate your input and will share it with our team to help improve our itineraries!
Amazing stops and the guide was amazing and knew lots! The sights were stunning and I learnt a lot I wanted to ask about.
That is so wonderful to hear! There is nothing better than coming away from a day of stunning sights feeling like you actually learned something fascinating, too. It sounds like your guide did an absolute top-notch job keeping you engaged and sharing all that great local context! Thank you so much for traveling with us and taking the time to leave your kind review!
Very enjoyable tour even though it was 10hrs it passed really quick. All stops were the correct time.
That is the ultimate sign of a great day out—when a 10-hour tour feels like it just flew by! Striking that perfect balance with stop durations so you never feel rushed or bored makes all the difference on a full-day adventure. Thank you so much for traveling with us and taking the time to share your feedback!
Very nice day! Beautiful sights, that looked just like the pictures. Many stops, but still a perfect mix of driving and stopping for views etc. Mario was an excellent guide – very friendly and considerate! Knowledgeable and patient with questions throughout the day. The first (short) stop was after about 1,5 hours. Stunning views and an option to buy coffee or icecream. There was an hour break for lunch in a small town. Plenty of options for lunch and getting things at the super market etc. The initial part of the ride can be challenging for the carsick. Bring a sick bag and take some anti car sickness pills to be on the safe side. Ride in the front! Option to swim/dip your feet in a cold, but beautiful stream and a lake. Change into swimwear then or wear underneath your clothing.
Mario is going to be so happy to read this fantastic review! It sounds like you had a wonderful day out, and we really appreciate you sharing such thoughtful, detailed tips. Recommending motion sickness precautions for those winding mountain roads, reminding people to dress for a quick dip in the stream, and pointing out the sweet spots for coffee and lunch will be hugely helpful for future travelers! We are so glad Mario's friendly, patient, and knowledgeable guidance helped make the trip so special for you. Thank you so much for traveling with us and taking the time to leave such a fantastic review!
