Visite de la ferme ostréicole et dégustation gratuite en kayak de mer dans la baie de Casco

Description

Wonderful paddle on open waters, fascinating introduction to oyster farming, delicious FRESH oysters, and exhilarating experience. Can't wait to do it again, and would happily repeat at all times of year and in all kinds of weather conditions. Alice is fun, knowledgeable and imparts skills along with natural and cultural history. Highly recommended.
We didn’t get to really kayak due to winds, which I get but maybe should have been cancelled instead of a ten minute paddle. Also people should know you are required to carry on and off your own kayaks, so not for everybody.
The oyster farm kayak tour was such an amazing experience, especially with Alice! Alice has such depth of knowledge about the area and oyster farms. We learned so much throughout the tour and couldn’t recommend it more. The complimentary oysters were a nice touch and let us enjoy the views and experience even more. Even though my partner and I don’t have a lot of kayaking experience, Alice was helpful in giving us tips for kayaking safely and effectively. On our way back to the boat launch from the oyster tasting, the winds picked up quite a bit and Alice got us and the group back to shore safely. Thank you for such a great experience, Alice!
Very relaxing easy paddle. informative details about lobster and oyster farming. Great scenery with eagles, ducks, cormorants and ospreys. Fresh oyster tasting with different toppings.
If you love kayaking, nature, and oysters, then this is the tour for you! Alice was a wonderful guide who is knowledgeable of lots of local and sea life facts. She does an amazing job preparing you to use a kayak and really knows the best spot for an oyster picnic! Our group had an amazing time- couldn’t have asked for a better experience! She takes pictures for you along the way and even shares some of her world famous blueberry mignonette!!!
I have waited over a week to write this because it was going to be very difficult to write. This was the worst tour I have ever been on. To begin with Alice put my husband and I in a tandem kayak which we did not want to go in but were given no choice. We have both kayaked five times before and had our own kayaks and had a fantastic times. Alice talked non-stop from the time we got there till the time we left and there was absolutely no time on your own to relax and enjoy the beauty around you. My husband and I struggled with the kayak and she was constantly yelling at us. Alice was in no frame of mind to take people on a tour and should have canceled. This kayak tour was anything but relaxing. When I spoke to others after the tour they said the same thing they were afraid to talk because it was the Alice show and nobody's was allowed to talk but her. She was very rude and demanded your full attention at all times. Check my records this is the first negative review I have ever done. If you do decide to go on this tour with Alice, you've been warned and be sure you don't get stuck in her crappy blue tandem kayak.
I truly am sorry that your trip wasn't as you wished. It is the guide's choice of kayaks that will be used for each trip. Had you requested solo kayaks in advance, you would have been given one. If you wanted to have private time, then ask. The information given during the tour about the wildlife, aquaculture, history of the area is based on what other guests have requested. I hope that you liked the pictures that were taken and shared.
Beautiful day. Calm water. Alice the tour guide was clear in her instructions and was very knowledgeable about the area and oyster farming and definitely kayaking!
Thank you for your positive review. Each trip is unique, but safety is very important to me and sharing about the environment where you are meeting coastal Maine is important too. History and background information on oyster farming and sea kayaking makes the trip more enjoyable.
Alice was a great tour guide ! So nice and so much information. In a drizzly (and more) rain we easily paddled to our talking points. The Ouster tasting was such a bonus
It started out as a drizzly foggy morning and Mother Nature decided to gift us with free baths while paddling. At one point I offered the group three choices about the trip because it was raining hard then: 1. Go back to start and have oysters there, 2. Go to a tiny island near where we were and have oysters, 3. Continue to paddle to a preferred island and have oysters. The group chose #3 and once they did, the rain let up and we had drizzles and some filtered sun on the island and on our way back! Truly a grand adventure in Maine. Thank you for being part of that adventure!
We had a great time with Alice - who has so much to share! Fun to be on the water and learn to open oysters. Enjoyed viewing the birds as well.
We had an incredible time with Alice kayaking open water on the bay. She is an extremely knowledgeable guide and all around fun person. I am already planning to take some friends with me and doing this again.
