Itinéraire
Au départ du célèbre monument de la Sky Tower d'Auckland, notre aventure sur la côte ouest commence par une visite guidée du centre-ville sur le célèbre Harbour Bridge jusqu'à la côte nord d'Auckland. Nous nous dirigeons ensuite vers l'ouest en direction des quartiers aisés de Coatesville, Kumeu et Riverhead. Au cours de ce voyage, nos guides vous indiqueront toutes les principales attractions et raconteront des histoires sur la région en cours de route.
En arrivant à la brasserie de bière artisanale Hallertau, vous aurez droit à un délicieux déjeuner de votre choix à partir d'un menu spécial. Après le déjeuner, nous avons l’occasion de déguster quelques-unes des bières artisanales primées d’Hallertau avant de poursuivre notre journée.
A quelques minutes en voiture de la brasserie, nous arrivons à la plage de sable noir de la côte ouest sauvage de Muriwai. En explorant cette région, vous serez émerveillé par le littoral accidenté, le sable noir unique et la sensation de puissance naturelle brute qui entoure la région.
En montant la colline depuis la plage, non seulement vous aurez droit à une vue imprenable, mais vous aurez également la chance de voir la plus grande colonie de fous de Bassan du continent de l'île du Nord. Se rapprocher de ces impressionnants oiseaux qui maîtrisent l'océan est une expérience particulière. (Le nombre d'oiseaux varie à différents moments de l'année).
En traversant à nouveau le port, nous nous dirigeons vers la charmante banlieue balnéaire de Devonport. Ici, nous prenons une route panoramique vers le sommet de North Head, un cône volcanique historique avec une vue imprenable sur le golfe Hauraki et les toits de la ville. Découvrez ses fascinants tunnels militaires et son histoire de défense côtière en explorant ce point de vue unique. Ses tunnels, ses bunkers et ses emplacements de canons indiquent aux histoire de la défense côtière de la fin des années 1800 pendant les deux guerres mondiales. La courte promenade jusqu'au sommet (env. 10 minutes) est récompensé par quelques-unes des meilleures vues sur le port de Auckland.
Après un excellent après-midi à explorer la côte ouest et la côte nord d’Auckland, il est temps de retourner en ville. Vous pouvez choisir de prendre le pittoresque trajet en ferry pour retourner à travers le port de Devonport à la ville, ou profiter d'une conduite entièrement guidée avec des dépôts dans les endroits centraux et les hôtels.

Fantastic tour with an amazing guide! I highly recommend this Auckland Wild West Coast tour! Even though it was a very small group, our guide, Trent, was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming throughout the entire trip. He was also a very safe and smooth driver, which made the journey super comfortable. The scenery was breathtaking, and Trent made the whole experience even better.

Fantastic tour! Grant ( our guide) was wonderful. Very knowledgeable , funny & charming! The beaches are beautiful, food was delicious & the scenery was breathtaking. Great tour to take to see Auckland outside of the city. We chose to take the ferry back to Auckland for the experience. Highly recommend!

What a great tour! The wild west side of Auckland was amazing to see. The cliffs, gannet birds, and powerful waves were a sight to see. Lunch was very nice and gave us a chance to meet the others on the tour with us. Simon, our guide, however really made the day memorable. He was informative and patient enough to answer all our questions about the tour and Auckland. Highly recommend this tour.

The tour guide was good, but the bus ride was not. I would have given more stars, but the bus ride was so hot it was miserable. The lunch was fantastic. Would have preferred to have skipped the golf course and spent more time viewing the Gannets.

My wife and I went on this tour as the second day of our honeymoon in New Zealand and couldn’t have been happier with the experience! The tour was kicked off with a delicious lunch at Hallertau Brewery. It was a beautiful day and we were thrilled to see that some of the gannets were still at the Muriwai Colony. Great day trip out of Aukland. Small group <15 in a van, good lunch at Hallertau brewpub. Excellent guide and driver Grant made the trip fantastic with info about the area. Beautiful black sand Muriwai beach, nesting Gannetts, stops at Devonport and North Head.
