Great overall experience. Driver picked us from hotel. It took around 1 hour to reach the backwater spot. First boat is a shikara boat which gives tour of village and lifestyle. It is of around 2 hours. Then there is native lunch at 1 pm on a banana leaf. Post that a second open boat takes us through mangroves and narrow canal. Finally we end the day with tea, and showcase of handicraft making like banana roof, jute rope. Driver drops back to hotel.
Beautiful experience - stunning views and relaxing boat ride. Driver was really nice giving us info along the way and stopped for chai. Food for lunch was delicious as well
Really lovely way to see the backwaters! The non motorized boat is very peaceful allowing you to hear bird calls and appreciate the stillness of nature as well as being eco friendly. The meal was delicious as well! Love that this tour supports locals of the island. Definitely recommend!
This was a relaxing an enjoyable day trip from Kochi and gave us a taste of the lovely backwaters of Kerala. It was well organised with a punctual pick up from our hotel, 2 boat trips and an impressive demonstration of coconut weaving. The food was delicious and overall it was a great day, though the first boat trip could have maybe been a bit shorter.
A really cool experience. I recommend it 100%
A nice quiet boat ride in beautiful scenery. We could even go on two rides, one before and one after lunch. Lunch was tasty. The "village walk" was rather short.
Picked up directly from the hotel, we are immersed in the world of backwaters. On the boat you immediately forget everything hectic and come to rest. And this magnificent nature! Enjoying them from the water was very special. The unobtrusive guide showed us the mussel cookers and the old craft around using the coconut palm. Incredibly varied and delicious was the lunch served at the cook's home. An extremely successful tour away from mass tourism, which I would book again at any time.
A wonderful experience to drive the backwaters naturally... during the break harvest your own coconut from the tree itself .. could learn how to weave palm roofs and create ropes from coconut fibers... great lunch and just an all-round beautiful excursion.
It was one of the most memorable experiences I've had, from the gentle hospitality to the quietness and beauty of the backwaters and the absolutely finger licking meal, definitely a must do when in Kochi!
Pick up at the hotel worked out well on time. Guide cook and boater all very warm. Cosy boat trip in the countryside with interesting information from guide Greeshma. Delicious lunch and chai.
