Helen did a wonderful job guiding us through Old Town Lyon, not only introducing us to Lyon’s well-known specialties, but explaining the significance of things we were seeing along the way. It was easy to find her with the directions provided and she gave us every ounce of her knowledge and time during our tour. She truly made it a special evening.
If I could give more than 5 starts, I would. Nathalie was an amazing guide, filling the 4 hours up with so much interesting information and history. I could've easily stayed another 4 hours soaking up her knowledge. The food was also amazing. It was also incredible value for money as well. If you are thinking about doing a tour Lyon, just book this one and you'll be stoked.
Great food - interesting history. A great mix of sweet and savory treats. Ira was interesting and very personable
Ollie was a great tour guide. Nice selection of food and an interesting tour of the old town.
The tour was a good combination of Lyon’s food and history. Ira is a great tour guide who let us see many aspects of Lyon. If you want a tour in English, be sure to ask for Ira; I’m sure his tours in tours innFrench are just ask good.
Ira shared a wealth of information about Lyon. I would highly recommend his tour to anyone. The pace was perfect as was the history and food experience.
Our guide, Ira, was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour, however, we did not feel was good value for the money. We received very little food…. Around one macaron, one piece of chocolate, one marzipan candy, a piece of praline crisp (shared), one piece of pate en croute (split between five tour participants) and one charcuterie planche (also shared between five people) with one glass of wine per person. We left hungry, which has never been the case with any food tour we’ve been on.
Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear you enjoyed Ira’s knowledge and friendly approach. Our tours are designed to offer a curated tasting experience focused on quality over quantity, showcasing artisanal products rather than providing a full meal. We’re sorry to hear it didn’t meet your expectations, but we appreciate you sharing your thoughts.
A pleasant, tasty and informative evening with Ira! We really enjoyed the historical information Ira shared as well as the Lyonnaise foods!
Needed to move to this tour as Les Halles Paul Bocus was cancelled. Tour guide pleasant and small group of 4. We visited some nice food stops and learnt about the local history. However the tour moved very slowly and time was allowed for some members to shop. This hasn’t happened on other tours. Although the tastings were very nice, especially the charcuterie board, for a cost of over $200 it was not worth it. The tour took longer than scheduled and did not finish at the destination l was expecting. This impacted my next planned activity.
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're glad to hear you appreciated the guide, the small group setting, and the quality of the tastings — particularly the charcuterie board. Our tours are thoughtfully designed to provide a rich and relaxed experience, allowing time for guests to connect with local artisans and fully enjoy each stop. While this pace may differ from other tours, it reflects our focus on quality and personalization. We understand that the tour ending location and duration may not have aligned with your expectations. The itinerary is crafted to follow a natural flow through the historic Old Town, and while exact endpoints can vary slightly, we always aim to ensure a meaningful and immersive experience. Regarding the tour cost, it includes not only the tastings but also the time, knowledge, and attention provided by your guide, as well as the careful planning behind each stop and route. We're sorry to hear it didn’t fully meet your expectations and appreciate you sharing your thoughts.
We had a wonderful food tour of Leon with Ira. It stopped raining just as we got to our first stop where we had a delicious aluminette The test of the stops will be a surprise! Ira was full of stories and histories of Leon, which enhanced our tour. It was a really helpful one to begin our trip to Leon.
