Nikolai was excellent very patient highly knowledgeable and super friendly. All the 3 stops in Slovakia were exactly as advertised. We found Bratislava more beautiful and palace gardens were particularly nice. We stopped for a vegetarian lunch and the food was superb. Highly recommended
This was such a perfect way to see sights while traveling from Prague to Bratislava. But what really made the trip was our competent, professional, kind, considerate, and empathetic guide, Filip! Ask for Filip - he anticipates guests' needs and tailors the day for you. Such an impressive young man.
Apparently most people do Vienna to Prague, but don't skip on Bratislava - it's well worth a visit. I've previously done a side tour from Tallinn to Riga which was excellent - so I was really keen on the side tour from Bratislava to Prague. The tour was amazing - totally because of our extremely knowledgeable and fun guide, Alex. Thank you Alex for sharing the history and background of Slovakia and Czechia and moreover giving us an insight into how it feels to live there. We did a private tour so could customize it to our needs, but the regular tour stops are great: Lednice Palace (great history of the Liechtenstein family and beautiful walk around the grounds); Znojmo (idyllic hilly town with a lovely cafe serving great food); Telč ( a fairy tale town). Communication was excellent, pick up on time and all very smooth. 5* for our guide!
Filip our guide and was prompt and provided great info along with options to tailor our day to our tastes. We saw so many sites and experienced places most tourists never see. Best way to travel. I would take Side Trips again.
Zuzana was knowledgeable, kind, and funny. We travelled from Prague to Budapest visiting Brno Bratislava, and Gyor. We had so much fun the entire time and felt like we got to know the cities more intimately. I would highly recommend Zuzana and Sidetours.
Thank you so much! At this strange time every review makes us extra happy!
The private tour from Prague to Bratislava was the highlight of my trip! Alexandra was an amazing guide; she was fun, engaging, and knowledgable. I loved seeing the towns of Kunta Hora and Brno, touring the grounds of Lednice Palace, and experiencing a wine tasting at Holanek Vineyard in the Moravian region. Alexandra took care of all the details and even provided umbrellas when it rained; she was extremely helpful by providing suggestions for things to do in Bratislava. The door-to-door service made the logistics easy. I will definitely be taking another tour with this company when I need to travel between European cities. Thank you Triin and Alexandra for making this a memorable experience!
I was booked on this very small group tour that ended up being cancelled the day before it was scheduled for on Monday, July 8, 2019, because the other passengers had cancelled out, but then Triin Magi at Sidetrip stepped up to the plate. Triin listened to my disappointment of this tour bus being cancelled since it was my lifelong dream to visit my dad's country of Slovakia and I had set my heart on this tour bus that would be a tour from Prague down to Bratislava. Triin arranged for me to take a train down to Bratislava and to be met by the most wonderful tour guide ever, whose name is Gabriela. Gabriela was right there at the train station and she took me on the best private tour from Bratislava up to Ledniche (the village of my surname), and all around the surrounding areas. My camera had broken and Gabriela was ever so kind to take all the photos I wanted on her own camera for me to not miss these special memories to share with my own family and friends in the U.S. after my return. I would highly recommend using Sidetrip for any all all of your travel excursions and please do ask for Gabriela when you are heading to Bratislava, she absolutely goes above and beyond in her tours and is extremely professional yet at the same time very easy to speak with, she speaks great English, along with the Slovak language, was very informative, and fun to relate to. Thank you all at Sidetrip for making this such a special trip for me!! Gratefully and Joyfully,Pamela L.
Peter was amazing as a tour guide! He was a great a conversationalist and educated us on a lot of Czech and Slovakian history. It was truly a pleasure! He also recommended great places for us to eat lunch and dinner at. The stops were also super fun! We stopped at Kutna Hora and Brno and got to experience the local culture for sometime. We also had a chance to check out the summer family residence of the Leichtenstein family and taste some of the local wine and burcak! Bratislava didn't have much to experience, so if you have the opportunity to go from Bratislava to Prague, this is highly recommended, not the route we picked. But otherwise super fun!
My husband and I had the pleasure of being guided by Pavlina, who was extremely informative and fun to be around! I wanted to be best friends with her by the time the trip ended :) This is the most unique thing we did on our two week eurotrip. We regretted not taking a Side Trip tour each time we went to a new city. If you are doing the same tour, I highly recommend the wine tasting at the winery. Reasonable price and excellent wine. Thank you Pavlina for making this a highlight of our trip!!
Our guide/driver, Alexandra, was a wealth of information and a delight to learn about the region on our travel between Prague and Bratislava. She kept us on time but with many enjoyable and relaxed stops along the way that even held our teenage girl’s interest. Travel days always seem to be a wash, so to hit some sights along the way is a great way to spend the day. Although visits to some incredible places are brief, it gives a good introduction for considering return day trips. Wish this service was available between more cities!
