En visitant le gigantesque Bouddha endormi doré au temple Butsuganji ainsi que la colline du Bouddha, fusion de l'art moderne et de la religion antique, vous verrez comment les habitants de Sapporo expriment ensemble leur spiritualité et leur créativité. Après le déjeuner, une visite du centre-ville de Sapporo, un tour de télévision emblématique et une dégustation de saké dans un petit bar local vous feront découvrir le côté laïc de cette ville du nord du Japon.

À votre arrivée au Butsugan-ji (Bouddha couché/dormant), vous serez frappé visuellement par la statue de Bouddha Nirvana de 45 mètres de long reposant/couché horizontalement en paix, sur le toit de la salle du Grand Temple Nirvana. Cet endroit incroyable est maintenant considéré comme l'un des endroits les plus forts spirituellement pouvoir de tout le Japon. De nombreux visiteurs affluent de tout le Japon et du monde entier. En plus du Bouddha, les visiteurs peuvent voir le magnifique jardin Jodo Pure Land avec un design japonais très authentique. À proximité, il y a un étang et une cascade avec de l'eau pure et propre. Il y a d'anciens rochers de jardin purement propres dispersés dans le jardin. Les gens viennent à ce temple non seulement pour sa belle ambiance, mais aussi pour sa puissante zone spirituelle.
Cette statue de Bouddha en pierre sculptée est entourée d'une rotonde située sur une colline artificielle en pente douce à l'intérieur du terrain appartenant à un cimetière. Il mesure 13,5 mètres de haut et pèse 1500 tonnes. Lorsqu'on s'en approche de loin, la tête solitaire du Bouddha qui jette un coup d'œil de l'intérieur de la rotonde transmet une impression solennelle et sereine du Bouddha. L'entrée du Bouddha a un jardin d'eau que les visiteurs se promènent normalement autour. Après cela, vous traversez un tunnel en béton voûté au bout duquel trône la statue de Bouddha, au centre d'une rotonde ouverte permettant à la lumière du soleil d'entrer. L’ouverture circulaire de la rotonde avec la lumière qui coule donne presque une sensation de « halo » à la statue de Bouddha. Certainement un site magnifique à voir! Un « must visit » tout au long de l’année.
Ensuite, nous retournerons au centre de Sapporo et visiterons The Sapporo T.V. Tour. Construit en 1957, il culmine à 147,2 mètres de haut. Cette tour a été conçue et construite par Tachu Naito, un architecte japonais qui est également célèbre pour avoir planifié la tour de Tokyo. Nous nous dirigerons vers le pont d'observation supérieur où vous profiterez d'une vue spectaculaire de 360 degrés sur toute la ville de Sapporo. Votre guide pourra indiquer diverses directions aériennes à partir du pont d'observation et informer les invités de l'endroit précis où il se trouve.
Notre visite se termine au Yata Sake Stand Bar. C'est un bar confortable et pittoresque. Ce bar est visité souvent par les habitants et les visiteurs. Il est facile de savoir pourquoi. Le personnel est très sympathique et vraiment « connaître leurs trucs » quand il s'agit de saké. Il s’agit d’une visite « incontournable » pour tous ceux qui aiment le saké et veulent connaître des informations plus détaillées sur les différents types de saké.

Talk to your guide..! Japan is more then sightseeing and food .. it’s the people that will make your visit wonderful
Scott was awesome and was very knowledgeable about the area. If you ask, he will make the Itinerary extra fun too! Easily got to and from the Statue and into Sapporo proper!
If you are visiting Sapporo for a few days, I highly recommend this day trip. I met Scott at the determined meeting spot and he was there waiting when I arrived on time. It turns out I was the only traveler who had booked the tour that day, so we left immediately and took public transportation. It was super easy and we were able to chat on a personal level which made it feel like traveling with a new friend. Hill of the Buddha was the obvious highlight and he was super insightful and gave me pointers on the best photo angles. Having a tour guide there made for a more meaningful experience. From there we headed back to Sapporo and proceeded to do a walking tour of the city. I’m not sure how a regular tour would have been with a full group , but it showed me he was willing to cater the trip to circumstances and my desires and interests. Top notch!
Although I was the only person on this tour, my guide Scott worked just as hard at making sure I had a fabulous time. In addition to the original itinerary that he crafted, which was fabulous (Buddha statue, sake tasting, et cetera), Scott further escalated my experience that day by leveling it up with various destinations including the Nakajima Park, the Odori Park, Shiryokan, and JR Tower Observatory. He also helped me shop for omiyage and truly went over and beyond..
Scott was such a great tour guide. He was fun and incredibly knowledgeable about the area. Navigating to all of our stops was a breeze, and not only did Scott provide great insight into the Hill of the Buddha, but to life in Sapporo and Japan in general. Scott also doubled as a personal photographer, he even knew all the best angles to get photos and certainly didnt mind stopping every 10 feet so I could take a picture. The sake at the end of the tour was just the icing on the cake. Highly recommend!
We had a truly great day with Scott E. In our two-week trip to Japan this time, Scott is the only American born tour guide that we had, thus he was the easiest to understand. Besides Scott’s thorough knowledge of the sites we visited, we were able to share many laughs with him while reminiscing about the “good old days” in America. We were already a fan of the work of architect Tadao Ando, so seeing the Hill of the Buddha with Scott was a real treat. We would highly recommend Scott’s service to any visitors to Sapporo.
