This was a terrible experience. There was NO narration of the sites. They gave us earphones but only music played. (The same awful song over and over.) We complained. The guide said “broken.” We wanted to sit inside the bus for air conditioning. It was barely on. It was too hot to sit outside. We got off after 3 stops. It was a HUGE waste of money. Not all “Hop on Hop Off” busses are the same company. The one in Singapore was awesome and so that’s what we expected. BIG WASTE of time and money.
We rode this bus around Hanoi old quarter and thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the top deck with the cool wind blowing our faces We felt safe and the commentary provided via headphones in your selected language was very educational There weren’t many people on the bus You could hop off at certain landmarks for a better look and then hop back on The bus can be easily booked in person near the lake and the bus park is close by
Not recommended. Drives too rarely. Long waiting times. Stops hard to find.
Poor. Wasted the 4hrs waiting for a pick up.
Difficult to match up the commentary with the sights, didn't align or cut off part way through. Still a good way to see the area but could do better.
It is a great way to see the city. My only advice is to go either early in the morning or mid day. I went around 4:30pm and the bus got stuck in traffic. There were places where we would be stuck in traffic for 10-15 minutes. All in all a great way to spend a few hours.

There are differences between tickets If you select the ticket for 4 hours, you are denied the seat above. It's too bad. I wouldn't recommend it.

Hi we went on this tour which was about an hour plus with lots of stops and an audio guide, earplugs were provided. The information provided was ok. The bus was ok and was clean .
We had a lovely tour around Hanoi on the Hop On, Hop Off Bus. We got to enjoy the sights without having to drive. The onboard commentary was useful and informative.
I always take a hop on hop off bus whenever I arrive in a new city. It’s a great way to get acquainted with a new city. Which one should take on your first or second day. One small issue when I presented my booking to the booking office as it took them about 30 minutes to try and work out and confirm that I actually booked it and that my booking was real. This is something that Viator should take up with this operator.
