What a privilege to see the lives of the ordinary people in Nairobi. Elijah was a lovely guide. Taking me to his home and to meet with his mother. If you can take a break from all the touristy things and get a glimpse of what life is really like for the workers of Nairobi. I realised what a safe place Kibera is full of lovely people finding ingenious ways to make a living. And women making a difference for each other. This is a different kind of tour that opened my eyes to the other side of life in Nairobi
All through fantastic trip. Lucas and Elijah are such nice and cute guys. We heard about the history of Kibera and met the friendly and hospitable residents of the slum. Visits at power women, markets, bone workshop, school etc. - In addition we were at home at Elijah's house and met his family + his mother's house for tea and a taste of her food. You will meet Hearty and warm people everywhere. You will also meet many welcoming and happy children, so remember to buy plenty of candy. We divided 130 pads for the 5 hours of the trip and could have had 100 more. You get all my warmest recommendations - but we missed a trip in a matatu - could have been mega cool to try Thank you very much for the coolest trip and huge Kram from Denmark
Thank you for the kind review and words Sanne. It was more than an experience to host you. Thank you for waiting in the parking lot for pick up. Looking forward to hosting you again in the future. For now let's get the 1000 books for the beautiful children of kibera
Overall, it is worth to visit there with the trusted guide. We visited little children‘s school and also children’s music band and could hear their performances!! It was really amazing and forgettable experience for us. Thank you Lucas and his friend taking us such a special tour!!
Thank you for the kind review and words Sachiko. I was glad you made it irrespective of the long journey to and after the cheese factory. Meeting you was an eye opener and I am grateful. Thank you again for the warm heart towards the kids of kibera and for the chocolates. Looking forward to meeting you again. Lucas
This tour was great. Lucas my guide had grown up here so knew where to take me and what to see. He spent time explaining what daily life is like and ensuring my need were met.
Thank you for the kind review Sharon. I honestly admired your resilience despite your physical challenges. You are an inspiration and I will always remember you for that. Keep on pushing with lots of love. Thank you Sharon. Lucas
Booked the tour one our before the start via Revolut. Got clear instructions and guide was waiting me at the mall. Tour guide was super friendly and knew the place like his own pockets. He told me about history of Kibera and we even visited his home. Thank you for having me!
Thank you for the kind review and words Mikke. It was a pleasure to meet you and share the experience. Looking forward to meeting you again soon
Touching walking tour of Kibera lasting 2.5 hours. Lukas is a very sweet boy. He speaks good English and, together with another person, makes you visit “his” Kibera. I never felt in danger (indeed more dangerous the center of Nairobi) and it was a visit outside the traditional tourist circuits that do not allow you to learn about the various facets of African life. I have found a multitude of people living here in conditions often on the edge of survival but with a great heart and a lot of determination. Trust Lukas with your eyes closed.
Thank you for the kind review my friend. I was more than glad to have hosted you in kibera. Hope to see you again in the future. Lucas
Very eye-opening and informative trip - Elijah was a wealth of local knowledge and the whole team were so friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to see the other side of Nairobi.
Thank you for the kind review David. It was a pleasure hosting you
Educational experience that help you understand the other side of Kenya. Elijah has been on time, patient, and extremely kind to show me the lifehood and history of his community. Was a privilige to see some of the projects such as the bone making shop, power woman to raise hiv awereness, and the lovely school. Also Elijah mom's chai is really good. Would advise you to bring extra cash for donations or items support. Not suitable to people who are sensitive to smell or extreme dirty conditions. Watch out for phone snatching as well. Thanks Elijah and your mom, good to see your brother too.
Thank you for the kind words Minh. I'm really glad you had the best of time in our neighborhood Kibera. I hope to see you again soon.
A must see in Kenya. As managing as the Safari and villages are, it is also important to explore the slums. It’s a very humble and eye opening experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone to do
Thank you for the kind review Toyosi. It was wonderful to host you
I came across this tour on my way from Uganda in May. The guide arranged for a meeting at Greenhouse mall where the tour starts. The experience was eye opening. The people in kibera are very warm and friendly. You get to see an open air market children in a school and also share a moment with the guides family. Totally worth it.
Thank you for your kind review and for finding time to visit Kibera. Hoping you come again soon
