Itinéraire
Peu de temps après la prise en charge, nous conduirons le long de la M5 et nous nous connecterons à la M4 via les plages de Muizenberg, St. James et Fish Hoek situées le long de la côte pittoresque de False Bay en route vers la colonie de pingouins de Boulder's Beach.
En passant par la plage de Muizenberg, nous verrons au loin de magnifiques cabanes de plage colorées. Les cabines de plage ressemblent aux «machines de bain» des années 1800 - une structure en forme de chariot qui a été roulée jusqu'au bord de l'eau, permettant aux femmes de se changer en vêtements de bain du menton à la cheville et de s'ébattre dans les eaux peu profondes. Les cabines de plage sont ensuite utilisées comme vestiaires pour les baigneurs et les surfeurs passionnés.
Tout comme leurs homologues, les cabines de plage que l'on peut voir ici à St. James Beach sont également utilisées par les baigneurs comme vestiaires. Votre guide s'arrêtera ici pendant quelques minutes pour vous permettre de prendre des photos amusantes avec ces cabanes de plage colorées avant de procéder à la colonie de pingouins de Boulder's Beach.
Nous passons devant le port de Kalk Bay, qui ressemble plus à un village de pêcheurs, avec les bateaux de pêche amarrés et les commerçants de poissons louant leurs prises. Du poisson frais est disponible ici chaque jour. Les vues, les odeurs et l'air marin rafraîchissant ne sont rien de moins que spectaculaires.
Nous traversons la plage de Fish Hoek. Il est possible de sentir les eaux chaudes de l'océan Indien qui se jettent dans la région de False Bay, ce qui fait de Fish Hoek une plage préférée pour nager et bronzer sur de longues étendues de sable blanc chaud.
Nous nous arrêtons à Boulder's Beach pour visiter la colonie de pingouins africains. La plage de Boulder est l'une des meilleures plages du Cap, en particulier pour la baignade et les bains de soleil. Il est possible d'avoir des rencontres rapprochées avec les pingouins africains en nageant et en prenant un bain de soleil à Boulder's Beach, mais ce n'est pas garanti. Par conséquent, nous nous promènerons le long de la promenade jusqu'à l'emplacement officiel de la colonie de pingouins pour voir les pingouins dans leur habitat naturel. La colonie de pingouins de Boulder abrite environ 3000 pingouins africains qui passent leurs journées à gambader dans les eaux de False Bay, à se prélasser au soleil et à parader sur les rochers de granit.
Après notre rencontre avec les charmants pingouins africains, nous passons à ce qui est sûrement le point culminant de la journée: le cap de Bonne-Espérance et la réserve naturelle de Cape Point. On pense qu'aucune visite au Cap n'est complète sans une photo derrière le panneau du nom du Cap de Bonne-Espérance. Nous explorerons la réserve naturelle pendant que le guide vous racontera des histoires historiques sur les balises Bartholomew Dias et Vasco Da Gama. Le Cap de Bonne-Espérance abrite de nombreuses faunes et flores telles que les fynbos (buissons fins), plus de 250 espèces d'oiseaux dont les autruches, le mâle, les babouins et le zèbre des montagnes du Cap. Nous conseillons à nos hôtes de faire preuve de vigilance et de ne pas trop approcher les animaux sauvages de la réserve car ils peuvent devenir violents. Aucun contact étroit ou alimentation n'est autorisé.
Après avoir exploré le cap de Bonne-Espérance, nous nous dirigerons vers Cape Point où les visiteurs sont libres de faire une courte randonnée jusqu'au phare de Cape Point ou de prendre l'option du funiculaire Flying Dutchman (frais supplémentaires à votre propre compte). Beaucoup pensent que Cape Point est le point de rencontre des deux océans. Cependant, Cape Point est en fait le point de rencontre officiel des deux courants océaniques : les courants océaniques froids de Benguela et chauds des Agulhas. Le phare de Cape Point est le plus puissant de la côte sud-africaine.
À condition qu'il soit opérationnel, nous emprunterons Chapmans Peak Drive, qui est l'une des routes les plus pittoresques au monde. Nous nous arrêterons quelques minutes au point de vue pour prendre quelques photos.
À notre retour au Cap, les visiteurs seront déposés au même point de prise en charge où ils ont été récupérés le matin.

We booked the half day tour the day before and it turned out to be the best decision ever! Gift was a great tour guide and driver, who brought us around the beaches, boulder’s beach, Simon’s town, cape of good hope, cape point, chapman’s peak and through camps bay and greenpoint back to the city - basically everything we wanted to see on the scenic route in Cape Town in the comfort of a car! We saw baboons, ostriches, antelopes along the way and stopped for great coffee and fantastic views. Highly highly recommend this tour, great use of our time!

Great tour that focuses on the five star sites (penguins at Boulder Beach) and Cape of Good Hope without the fluff that many tours offer. Our guide/driver, Gordon, was excellent. He provided us excellent information and pulled over when we saw baboons, ostriches, and in hope of seeing a whale. I'd highly recommend for those who want a 9AM-3PM excursion.

We had a 7pm flight so this was the perfect way to spend the day before traveling. Our tour guide Japhet was knowledgeable and personable. He picked us up right on time from our hotel at 8:15am and took us to several different key sites to take pictures and see the area. He gave great background and context to the different sites. This was the perfect way to see a lot of Cape Town and the surrounding areas at once. This tour did include a lot of driving but Japhet did a great job of breaking it up with different scenic stops so we could take pictures and stretch our legs. We arrived back at our hotel at 3pm and then headed to the airport. Great last day in Cape Town!

Thoroughly enjoyed this half-day trip. Tour guide, Mr Mena, was super friendly. Prompt and clear communication leading up to the tour date via WhatsApp. Pick-up and drop-off right at our hotel door. The tour itself is the perfect pace. I know some reviewers say they felt rushed, but let's be clear: this is a half-day tour. Of course time will be a constraint. Further, if you're like me, you don't need more than 5-10 min at an overlook to snap some photos and walk around before moving onto the next sight. You get a solid 45 minutes at the two main stops of the tour (penguin colony at Boulders Beach and lighthouse at Cape Point). And the drive itself is beautiful. So again, this is the perfect pace that will have you back by 2pm to refresh and relax before your evening plans. Highly recommend this tour and Mr Mena as guide. 5/5
