-The Cape Town half-day Robben Island tour with ferry ticket was a epic! I soaked up a powerful history of the Island ,saw the prison where Madiba was held, and the ferry ride was smooth as silk. Totally worth every minute

Even though I enjoyed Samuel picking us up at the hotel and returning us back, this activity, you could’ve done on your own. It was easy to get to the port and buy a ticket in advance, because once you are in Robens island, you just jump in a bus with a bunch of people and get the tour that way. The tour itself in the island is well arranged, and they move people quick. It is very emotional and sad. But it is part of history, and it was very interesting.
I am Francine umutoni of Rwandan nationality and I was in South Africa last month on vacation with my friends, we were crazy about joy to visit Robben Island tour. The private tour of us awaits The air conditioner was beautiful, with the large boat waiting for us to get us to this magical place. They began to meet Nelson Mandela's touching story and his imprisonment as a political leader is moving too, I learned a great lesson to help and love my country. I loved more I loved my continent of Africa and I enjoyed the private tour safari to welcome us warmly, we spent the beautiful time with you I said thank you for your services.
Great experience . Informative guide on the bus and the ex prisoner who gave the tour in the prison was very good and gave a true insight of what prison life was like for political prisoners . It would have been good when on the bus tour to have a few more opportunities to stop and reflect on prison life . The ferry was running an hour late and there was no communication as to why
He was very honest. It was a resume tour and exhibition. Very emotional and informative also emotional. Our driver was very informative and helpful. I recommend.
My rating is based on the company that picked us up and dropped us off for what is a standard public tour. The cost of $210 turned out to be ridiculous...kind of a ripoff. We learned that the only way to tour Robben Island is via the single operator that includes the ferry to and from the island and the tour on the island. This is all very efficient and the tour was good. The site is obviously of historical significance and we enjoyed the experience. If you buy the tickets yourself, which we should have done, it's $40 per person. So $80 for the 2 of us. Then add $15 total to Uber to and from the ferry terminal and the whole thing costs $95. The viator tour we booked was $210. So basically we paid $130 for the pickup and drop-off. On top of that, our 10:00am pickup didn't arrive until 10:32 and we almost missed our 11:00 ferry. It was unnecessarily stressful and ridiculously expensive. I would never have booked this tour if things had been clear. I'm sharing this to hopefully help someone better understand the numbers.
Very helpful pick up driver who was sensitive to a mobility issue. Made logistics easy with ticket purchase and escort to the ferry. The tour of the island was guided by an excellent story teller and the guide of the Mandela cell was helpful. Powerful experience.
