Nous avons prévu cette visite pour permettre aux visiteurs de découvrir la plupart des choses clés à faire à Kandy. Notre chauffeur vous récupère à l'hôtel à Kandy et monte le tuk tuk. "Tuk - Tuk" est devenu une sous-culture au Sri Lanka et c'est l'un des modes de transport les plus amusants, pratiques et économiques. Tuk Tuk n'est pas disponible dans la plupart des autres pays et les clients qui visitent le Sri Lanka se font un point d'honneur de profiter de la conduite de ce véhicule simple ainsi que de l'opportunité de goûter aux fruits locaux et à la vie locale tout le long du chemin.

Les jardins botaniques royaux de Peradeniya sont à environ 5,5 km à l'ouest de la ville de Kandy dans la province centrale du Sri Lanka. En 2016, le jardin a été visité par 1,2 million d'habitants et 400 000 visiteurs étrangers. Il est près de la rivière Mahaweli (la plus longue rivière du Sri Lanka). Il est réputé pour sa collection d'orchidées. Le jardin comprend plus de 4000 espèces de plantes, dont des orchidées, des épices, des plantes médicinales et des palmiers. L'"Herbier national du Sri Lanka" y est rattaché.
Pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la ville de Kandy a accueilli le quartier général du Commandement de l'Asie du Sud-Est et a été un lieu clé pour l'effort de guerre. Le cimetière qui était autrefois connu sous le nom de cimetière militaire de Pitakande a été repris par la Commonwealth War Graves Commission en tant que cimetière de guerre permanent, et c'est maintenant le dernier lieu de repos des soldats de l'Empire britannique tués pendant la guerre. Statue de bouddha Bahirawakanda À environ 2 km du centre-ville de Kandy se trouve un temple bouddhiste Theravada appelé Sri Maha Bodhi Viharaya, également connu sous le nom de temple Bahirawakanda. Le temple est célèbre pour sa statue blanche géante du Seigneur Bouddha, appelée Bahirawakanda Vihara Buddha Statue, debout à 88 pieds, l'une des plus hautes statues de Bouddha de l'île.

Le planteur qu'Arthur avait utilisé pour voir la ville de Kandy en se tenant debout sur un siège en pierre sous un arbre situé devant son bungalow.
Les danses de Kandyan, ou de l'arrière-pays (udarata natum), sont considérées comme la tradition de la danse classique du Sri Lanka. Les danseurs kandyens sont traditionnellement interprétés uniquement par des danseurs masculins. La technique, en partie dérivée de l'Inde du Sud, met l'accent sur le dynamisme, le jeu de jambes puissant, les sauts et les tourbillons. Il possède un vaste répertoire, en partie issu d'une ancienne danse rituelle indigène, en partie influencée par les danses du sud de l'Inde.
Objet de combats acharnés, on dit que la dent – l'une des dents du Bouddha et donc l'une des reliques bouddhistes les plus importantes – a été introduite pour la première fois au Sri Lanka au 4ème siècle après JC et a fait partie de la politique de la région locale. depuis. Well-planned day tour that we were able to see many parts of Kandy.
Had a good experience. Communication was excellent using WhatsApp. Irfan was kind and patient. Don't expect a lot of information about the places. Botanical garden was beautiful and well maintained and a must visit place.

The three of us joined a half-day Tuktuk trip with Irfan, and the experience was amazing. Irfan was patient, experienced, and very communicative. We drove from Kandy to Sigiriya and looked at Lions Rock after a 20 minute ascent. It was a really nice experience. Afterwards we went to the cave temples. We really liked the tour. A special thanks goes to our driver Irfan, who provided us with a lot of useful information about Sri Lanka during the trip. It was really interesting, thank you Irfan! We would recommend the tour.

Mr Irfan was on time, dressed immaculately and was happy to design the tour totally around my needs. There was no shopping or sales involved, which made me very happy. He escorted me to the Botanical gardens. made sure I got in and gave me flexibility in how long I wanted to stay. He explained and gave me choices all along the way he was very receptive to my needs and regularly offering me food, water or rest. He told me about his family and also was very interested in my life. I felt very fortunate that he had guided me through my city tour in Kandy. He took me up on either side of the city and the views were tremendous. Before going to the temple of the tooth he made sure that I had a good lunch and rest. He was always exactly where he said he would be and at no time did I wait for him anywhere. I can’t recommend him strongly enough for a solo traveler he was my perfect guide. After the tour, he sent me videos and pictures that he had taken also during the day and even noticed when we went to the traditional dance show that I was not taking pictures so therefore he did.. This was the best way to see Kandy and our guide, Irfan was excellent. He made sure we saw all the cultural sites and were comfortable throughout the trip. We felt very safe as Irfan navigated the busy city with ease and felt that he was a very experienced driver. A highlight from the trip was definitely the big Buddha and Kandy dance. Irfan even took us up to the Kandy lookout at sunset as we didn’t go earlier in the day due to the rain - it was a great end to our day! Highly recommend this tour if you are staying in Kandy!
