Tour 3 islands

Tour of 3 islands booked at Kota Kinabalu Pier. Great confusion at the start and you hope that the boatman with whom you booked will take you to the boat to leave. An hour late. In summer they are stormed by Chinese tourists and you can imagine the state of the beaches. They don't know how to swim and they're on shore with life jackets. You, used to the Ligurian Sea, would like to snorkel, but you are constantly blocked by the "local lifeguards" since the anomaly is you. We were given a time when we got back, but it's the same time they give everyone. Hours and hours waiting for your boatman again. Unless you're still paying to beg a boat to take you back. There are more beautiful and less confusing places. To avoid, unless you want to see an anthill of Chinese tourists dressed to the max floating ashore.

Réponse de l'opérateur

We thank you for sharing your experience. We sincerely sorry that the tour at the 3 islands did not satisfy his expectations. We take his comments very seriously on the disservice to the pier, the delays, the crowding and the management of the return. We understand its frustration, especially if she was looking for a more peaceful and snorkeling experience. We will share what is reported with our Operational Team to improve organization and communication, especially in high season periods. We apologize for the inconvenience and we hope to be able to offer you a better experience in the future. Best regards,

Splashing in the water at Kota Kinabalu

Great day out on the water whilst in Kota Kinabalu. The water was so warm and the water sports were great fun. All with a tasty lunch. Our guide Roy was brilliant and helpful.

Bad tour guide

The tour guide was unprofessional kept trying to flirt with my gf most of the trip, and seems like he kept doing the same with other women on the trip. Won't be using this tour service again.

OKAY KK!

Our tour guide Roy was the best - super funny and knowledgeable. There was more than enough food for everyone (the buffet did not run out). The weather was perfect and the beaches were very clean with exquisite clear blue waters. Do not be put off by some of the reviews - it’s the experience of a lifetime!

Way overpriced

First, we waited for an hour at the jetty for our guide, then he tried to convince us to go back to KK. Food was OK but the snorkeling at Manukan was average. Totally overpriced, get the tour from the jetty, you will get it for much less.

Good experience

If you want to swim in Kota Kinabalu, this is the right escursion especially for beginners. You may swim only in a restricted area where fishes and corals are very few, unfortunately. The organization is good. May be they can improve in reducing waiting time at jetty

Poor at best

Paid over $100 AUD for basically nothing. Had a boat ride to Sapi Island. The guide didn't explain anything, was an effort to get snorkelling equipment. We snorkelled for maybe 45mins before it poured down with rain. We then sat under a covered area for the rest of the 3hrs while it rained. When we went to get the buffet food it was basically all gone. We had 2 vegetarians in the group and all they gave them was plain rice and boiled vegetables. The boat ride back was petrifying in the rain/massive waves and we thought we would roll, one of the ladies fell into the aisle of the boat. Basically the trip was cut short and we got a boat ride and a poor buffet. Have tried to get in contact with them, no response but a request for me to review. Big disappointment, don't waste your money.

It didn't help that the weather was bad and we only got to see one of the two islands, the trip was a shambles, didnt find out pick up time until 8.30pm the night before, then they were half an hour late. The guide did not comunicate and gave no information what so ever about the island, he was on his phone most of the time. The food was ok, but overall very expensive for what we got.

BEAUTIFUL, BUT CHAOS

The islands were beautiful, but organised chaos to get there. So busy on the ferry too, a lot of wasted time waiting to go from island to island.

Well organized, professional local guide

Our guide Tan picked us up on time and was very professional. He was part of "Amazing Borneo" tours. It was just us on the boat over to the first island, Sapi. It was super to get there early as nobody was there yet and the water and conditions were amazing. Tan watched our bags and provided us with information on other things to do on the island. (we did the zipline) We left at noon and went to Manukan island which was much bigger with resorts and bars/restaurants. We had a very delicious huge lunch. The snorkeling was not as good here, I didn't see any coral. Guide brought us back to the mainland and I was happy we didn't have to wait with the masses for a boat.
