Our guide eve was wonderful. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic and just plain nice. If you only take the ferry and seethe town you will miss the best parts . The exhibit about the Japanese expulsion and the rest of the story is worth knowing. Also the history museum and the art museum. Make sure to see the rest of the island with this tour . She picked us at the ferry terminal. Very convenient.
Bainbridge is a lovely island that is the strawberry of Seattle. Thank you, Eve. You are an exceptional and knowledgeable guide. I highly recommend this tour.
Weather was bad. Regardless, vehicle was terrible; not suitable for 5 adults. We couldn’t see or hear anything from the fogged up third row minivan. Guide/driver was very nice. Tour not so much.
The guide was extremely knowledgeable, compassionate and informative. She shared so many facts and the stories behind the memorials. Totally worth the time and expense. The excursion was also easy to get to, just outside the Bainbridge Ferry.
This tour of Bainbridge Island with Eve was perfect. From start to finish Eve was warm, friendly, informative and fun. Her knowledge of the island and its history was exceptional and she really shared her enthusiasm for all things Bainbridge with us. So much so that we were sad when it came to an end. If you do nothing else on Bainbridge Island take this tour 😊
It is informative - I would not have gotten as much from the trip without the guide. The guide was friendly, engaging, and well informed. You could tell she loves her community and loves sharing it with others.
My granddaughter and I visited Bainbridge Island and reserved this tour. Our guide for the afternoon was Mary, and she was a local. She picked us up at the ferry terminal, and she was as nice as could be. Luckily, we had her all to ourselves. We really enjoyed seeing more of less known aspects of the island. We first visited the Japanese American Memorial which was heart wrenching. We learned about the history of the area and the building of the memorial. We then saw the labyrynth and a lookout at Rockaway Beach. Our final stop was to see Pia the Peacemaker, one of Thomas Dambo's trolls. We truly enjoyed our afternoon with Mary. When we finished she dropped us off at the beautiful little bookstore in town. Excellent overview of the island!
The Tour was amazing thanks to Eve. We learned so much about the Bainbridge people and its history and in particularly, the history behind the Japanese Exclusion Memorial. This is a must do tour if you are visiting the island.
This is a must see. Poignant and inspiring. The injustice that was done to the fourth generation Japanese Americans was an eye opener. No one can do better justice to this visit than Eve, our tourist guide. Do yourself a favor, book with her ands visit this place next time.
We thoroughly enjoyed out tour of Bainbridge Island with Eve. She was so thoughtful and knowledgeable. The vehicle was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the Japanese Memorial and all of the symbolism she explained. She cares about what she does. There were six of us and we all give her the highest praise. A good way to learn about Bainbridge.
