Timothy was an excellent guide and great personality who knew the port though and though! Had a great time.
Fabulous culinary (and history) walking tour. Hit all the Maine highlights, most specifically the seafood chowder and also lobster rolls. Learned a lot about Portland and its history along the way. The food portions were much more substantial than just "tastes" and each was a treat in its own right. Highly recommended.
Never do this, complete waste of money and a joke of our time. In the first two hours, we only tried 2 different food options, as our guide took her sweet time to tell her own stories and talk to her own friends outside of the tour. For the $600 dollars I spent to do this, it would have been better off to throw my money in the port. We ended up leaving halfway through without any notice because of how painfully slow and boring our experience was. Never waste your money on this joke of a tour.
Wonderful tour of Old Port restaurants, the portions were very large, full portions at each stop, and the selections were delicious. Our guide, Kimberly, was knowledgeable and friendly and gave so much history of the area that we were unaware of. Highly recommend.
Lobster roll is top notch in quality and venue!! Rest could be more elevated
Chuck was an awesome guide! Very knowledgeable and made sure we were constantly safe. All the food we tried were delicious!
Thanks so much for leaving this 5-star review for Chuck - he will be thrilled to hear it! So glad you enjoyed your tour!
Anne was a terrific guide, shared her own experiences growing up in Maine. She made sure to share us authentic experiences like viewing as lobsters got unloaded from boats to the market, and her experience being in Berlin prior to wall falling when sharing the piece of the Berlin Wall in Portland Harbor. Food was good value and numerous options. Great to go as a couple, as there were several couples on the tour. Glad we booked early, as tour was full.
We were in Portland for a few days and wanted to get some tips on pls es to eat and enjoy some of the best foods there. We went to 5 different restaurants and had Plenty to eat including fish tacos, lobster rolls, clam chowder, chocolate truffles and ice cream. The food was delicious and Timothy made the tour enlightening and entertaining. He is a lifelong local with a great sense of humor which really added to the tour experience.
#1 - Do not eat breakfast. Unlike other food tours, this one provides full size portions, not samples and you will fill up. Timothy was out guide - very knowledgable and responsive. We had 12 people. Bring an umbrella is you are sun sensitive. The stop at the wharf is in direct sun and lasts about 10+ minutes re the history of the place. There is no shade. The ice cream at the end is delicious.
Fantastic tour! Our guide was super knowledgeable about Portland and the Maine area. The tour was well paced so you had time to get hungry again before the next stop. He had great recommendations for meals after the tour. Overall such an amazing tour
