Disappointing. This was not a food tour as advertised. It simply was a walk thru Chinatown with the guide explaining the different food. We ate a few things from stalls, standing next to the stall - a drink, a pork bun, a small sausage and mango sticky rice. We ate one very small noodle dish at a sit down place - that’s it. This was by far the worst “food” tour we have done. We live in Singapore and have done many good tours in Southeast Asia. Our guide was friendly. This was a complete waste of money for us and would not recommend. I should have paid attention to the dates of past reviews, as many are 2-3 years old where experiences seemed better than ours.
Hi John, Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. While we are glad to hear that your guide was friendly, we are sorry that the tour fell short of your expectations regarding the food portions, variety, and overall value. We take your comments seriously and will use this feedback to review and improve the Chinatown experience, ensuring it better delivers the food tour our guests expect. We appreciate your time and the opportunity to do better. Cheers, TakeMeTour Team
Tina was very friendly and a great guide! We went to a lot of places that locals go to and learned about all of the different foods. Everything was really tasty, and we were stuffed by the end. Would highly recommend this for an authentic food experience!
My fiancé and I had a lovely time on the tour. We had a food restriction and our guide adjusted the food tastings for us and we were still able to try a number of new and tasty food items. I would suggest to go on a day/time when Chinatown is less crowded. We went during a lull time and felt had there been more people it would’ve made it harder to navigate through crowds and follow our guide.
A great experience. We got a lot of food and had a great evening. Very entertaining our guide called Bank.
Our guide Tony was very knowledgeable about the history of China Town and we enjoyed very much tasting different dishes and learning about various methods of cooking .
We toured Chinatown and sampled alot of dishes. The best part was that our guide, Joy, was on time, knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely got value for money. Thanks Joy!
This little walking tour was a nice introduction to the Chinatown area which can be overwhelming with large crowds, sites, smells, and Tuk Tuks but it wasn’t the food tour I was hoping for. My guide seemed to be more versed as a cultural guide, pointing out many closed Wats. I intentionally booked the tour in the evening (when many businesses and Wats are closed) to focus on food and was ready to try everything and anything. The guide was not very interested in food and asked me what I wanted to eat, which was confusing. Even after I told her I was up for trying anything, she seemed to flounder to make a plan for where to start and suggested a dessert. What I ended up wasting g was tasty but not as adventurous as I had hoped: Some Crispy pork, spicy squid, khanom bueang, a coconut slushy, and some just ok donut bites. The guide was so nice I wish I could give this more stars but it wasn’t a food tour as advertised.

Very nice tour. Good food on the way walking through Chinatown. You get more than enough to eat and surprising flavors. Very nice tour guide, she had an answer to everything and brings it nice. Personally, I recommend it!
Good food tour with Ton or Tony - had two reluctant participants in my family who were anxious about eating street food. Finally overcame their fears by starting slowly and eating foods Americans are more familiar with. Thankfully Tony had some different gears and was empathetic to my teen son who really didn’t want to eat much. Tony shared history of Chinatown, took photos and took us to a couple of Michelin rated foodie spots. Evening was topped off with yummy desserts that we each selected. While we didn’t eat nearly the amount of food we paid for - it was still a good evening. I was thinking this was nibbles, but we sat down at two spots and could’ve done more if my family was more into it. Be ready to get your grub on …
This was a good experience and the tour guide was nice. They need a clearer meet up spot to prevent confusion.
