Embarquez dans notre bus moderne et climatisé depuis 4 points de rendez-vous centraux et voyagez vers la région du Péloponnèse. A une heure de route d'Athènes, dans la région du Péloponnèse, vous pourrez trouver le célèbre canal de Corinthe. Le canal de Corinthe est un canal qui relie le golfe de Corinthe au golfe Saronique dans la mer Égée. Il traverse l’étroit isthme de Corinthe et sépare le Péloponnèse du continent grec, faisant ainsi de l’ancienne péninsule une île. Le canal a élevé le statut du Pirée en tant que port majeur de la Méditerranée. Un projet qui a duré plusieurs siècles, il a été conçu par un souverain de l’ancienne Corinthe, commencé par l’empereur romain Néron et achevé au XIXe siècle par les Français. Taillé dans la roche, le canal mesure plus de 6 km de long et 23 m de large, ses parois verticales s'élevant à 90 m au-dessus de l'eau. Nous nous arrêtons au Canal pendant 45 min. Près du canal, vous trouverez des options de restauration, des collations et des toilettes publiques.
Ensuite, nous nous dirigeons vers Ancient Corith, une ville très importante de l'Antiquité et de l'époque romaine. (30 min de trajet). Réputée pour sa richesse et son architecture, Corinthe a été le lieu de la dernière confrontation de la Grèce contre Rome. Après la défaite, les Romains rasèrent la ville, puis la reconstruisirent en colonie romaine avec des théâtres, un forum et des temples impériaux. Seul l'ancien temple d'Apollon fut épargné. Corinthe abritait le célèbre Jason des Argonautes, voleur de la Toison d'or, Pausanias, voyageur romain, et saint Paul, qui enseigna l'évangile du Christ ici. Suivez leurs traces et revivez le passé avec notre application de réalité virtuelle que vous utiliserez dans le site archéologique tout en écoutant l'histoire fascinante avec notre Audioguide. Le musée du Site est également un must à visiter. Nous resterons dans l'ancienne Corinthe pendant 3 heures. Il y a aussi un village voisin pour déjeuner rapidement ou en-cas.
Sur le chemin du retour vers Athènes, nous empruntons la magnifique route côtière et nous nous arrêtons pour prendre des photos de l'ancien port de Kechries. Dans les temps anciens, Kenchreai était l’un des deux ports de la cité-état intérieure de Corinthe. Alors que Kenchreai desservait les routes commerciales orientales via le golfe Saronique, Lechaion sur le golfe Corinthien desservait les routes commerciales menant à l'ouest vers l'Italie et le reste de l'Europe. ( 30 minutes en voiture). Nous nous arrêtons 10 min pour des photos. Nous retournons ensuite à Athènes pour débarquer confortablement dans l'un de nos 4 points de dépose. (1h de route).

This was a fantastic tour. It was significantly less to have the audio tour and earbuds at ancient Corinth, and we could go at our own pace. Our tour guide kept everyone on track at each of the 4 stops, and apart from the audio at the Corinth ruins, did keep us informed about what each site was about.
Thank you to Eva and Dimitri for the wonderful day of discovery. The stop at the canal was just perfect! Just the right duration, and it was truly impressive! I fell in love with ancient Corinth and Acrocorinth as well! The audio guide with the device allowing us to see the state of the places in the past is a wow! But the headphones worked less well. The Google pin was in the wrong spot for pick up. Wife and I stood in spot for 45 minutes. Come to find out the pick up spot was in front of our hotel. Contacted visitor and they refused to refund money for their mistake.
I would never recommend booking a trip through this company. We (my pregnant wife and I) showed up to the pick up location, which they have listed as the 4th stop, 10 minutes early. At no point did we see a bus stop, nor did any tour guide get out of any bus to ask if we were there for this specific tour. You’d think, since we are tourist and English speaking, they would go above and beyond to make sure you get to where you need to go. We ended up waiting 20 minutes to call to then be told they had already picked up people from that spot and didn’t have time to turn around. They left us, tourists, in the middle of Athens! They I tried dealing with customer service, which is absolutely lacking, and they were no help at all and had to contact multiple people just to get my refund. They offered to book us the next day but that was the day we were leaving and then tried to offer us a tour that is completely different from what we wanted. I just wanted a simple refund because of all the hassle they put us through. After letting them know I will leave a review of my experience, I received an unprofessional and snarky response by the individual I tried working with from the tour company. We ended up taking a train to ancient Corinth ourselves and getting there and had a wonderful time, no thanks to this tour. I recommend you try doing the same, it is cheaper and you get more flexibility for what you want to do while there. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY! They will leave you stranded and try to keep your money.
8 hours is NOT A HALF DAY! spent hours up a mountain and on a deserted beach, vtr guide device was a mobile, impossible to view in the sun.
It was everything they claimed it would be, the guide was helpful and informative, the driver drove safely, and they kept to the schedule. Note that Athens traffic makes timing somewhat uncertain. Our tour lasted seven hours from pickup to dropoff.
Excellent day. Just enough time at the canal. Better than other trips. Great guide, small group no thieves on the bus like the other two tours we did.
Nice tour, but a bit too long - planned to be there for 6 hours, but it took more than 8 which might cause some issues in case of other plans (luckily it did not affect us). The canal, actually, is not the most impressive thing, as the Corinth city is more impressive and the castle ruins at the top of the mountain are more impressive. Would suggest to have more time to check them and not visit the beach/ancient port site as it was not that impressive.
Beautiful excursion guide very helpful scenic route , to be recommended, considering that the total time exceeds the hours scheduled for traffic
