Waaaaay too much specific detail and not enough general detail for tourists wanting an overview of the city. This tour would be more appropriately titled as a focus on the water fountains, frescos, churches and tradespeople (guild societies), because the minute (and repetitive) details on those topics is 95% the content of this tour. There was minimal broader content about the city (apart from a brief mention of historical city walls), the river, the daming. This is the second audio tour i've (accidently) bought by this provider, in different cities, and both were the same.
We learned a lot of interesting things about Bern and its history, in a very pleasant manner. The tour is very well organized, the directions to go are clearly explained. We took our time to enjoy every stop, listening the beautiful poetic explanations. We needed more than one day to do all the 157 steps. Best for every tourist who wants to learn about the city and its highlights.
Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re delighted that you enjoyed discovering Bern and its rich history through the tour. It’s wonderful to hear that the route was easy to follow and that you could take your time at each stop to fully appreciate the city. We’re grateful for your kind words and hope you continue to enjoy exploring new places in the future.
There is quite a bit of walking. The full-time for the tour would probably be approaching five hours. However, they go into a lot of detail for certain sculptures or stain glass windows. That’s easy to skip through if you’re not interested. The walking directions are excellent.
Thank you very much for your feedback! We’re glad that the walking directions helped you navigate the tour easily. Our aim is to provide a complete experience, going into the kind of details a guide would share. And yes, there is flexibility to skip parts that don’t catch your interest. Wishing you countless wonderful discoveries on your journeys ahead!
Very comprehensive. Really adds perspective to what you’re seeing. A bit too long in spots, though, requiring at least 5-6 hours including breaks.
Thank you very much for your feedback! We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour and found it thorough and insightful. While it can be detailed in some parts, we wanted to create a complete experience that even the most curious visitors would enjoy. We hope you have many more great trips ahead!
The instructions on the tour were very good and clear. I liked that you could go to the next section if you did not feel you wanted to hear the minute details if every stop.
Thank you so much for your feedback! It’s wonderful to hear that the guide made it easy for you to move at your own pace and choose the level of detail that suited you best. Wishing you plenty of future journeys where you can enjoy setting your own rhythm and focusing on what feels most meaningful to you.
Good cultural data that is appreciated to understand the city and something about its people. At some little long stops. Thanks
Thank you for leaving your feedback! Some stops may sometimes feel long, but we wanted to provide the full picture with all the important details. Wishing you all the best for your future travels.
The self guided tour was pretty boring unfortunately. The man’s voice was boring and he spent far too much time talking about stained glass windows and other fairly dull things. It needs to be shorter and more engaging. No one needs 5 minutes audio on a window!
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the tour didn’t quite match your expectations in terms of style and pacing. Our goal with this self-guided experience is to go beyond the surface. Rather than offering just a brief overview, we aim to provide rich, in-depth content — the kind you might expect from a professional live guide. For many visitors, learning about the unique features of a place — including details like the remarkable stained glass windows — is an important part of understanding its history and significance. That said, we know that every traveler is different. That’s why the tour is fully self-paced — listeners can always skip ahead or focus on the parts they’re most interested in. We hope that even if not every detail was to your taste, you still discovered something meaningful — and that, like us, you found something to fall in love with in this incredible city.
This tour was accessed through your phone at the specific time. It was 150 different points of interest. It was supposed to take 3 hours but in fact took much longer. It was a comprehensive history of Bern full of detail and fascinating facts. The meticulous detail of the locations made it easy to navigate. At the end restaurants and the train station were signposted. This tour enabled us to learn about and enjoy this beautiful city at our own pace. A word of warning- the tour uses a lot of phone battery - we needed to recharge our phone half way through.

Good and really detail oriented. A little too long in our opinion, we only got to the 40th point out of the 150 stops. Also, it gives the impression that it is made by AI, so the voice gets a little boring after an hour.
Thank you for your feedback! We're glad you found the tour good and detailed. It is designed to be comprehensive, allowing travelers to explore at their own pace. All of the text is carefully written by experienced human tour guides who are passionate about sharing the city's history and culture. While the audio is prepared using high-quality AI, many listeners find it natural and engaging. We understand that preferences vary, and we appreciate you sharing your experience.
